Haven't been on really so this updates a bit late: There's a few of us meeting up at guisborough around 6:30am, then stokesly at 7 to start on the b1257. After the day we'll probably be heading to the drifting at Teesside Autodrome

I haven't actually done this, but; have you considered buying a normal universal cat and getting a local exhaust place to weld some flanges in for you to bolt it in, get them to do the same to your exhaust and also make a decat out of the left over pipe. Or find a friendly MOT guy

(4EFE -T) Emanage Ignition harness - Intermittent starting
jimlols replied to jimlols's topic in Electronics
I can display the RPM via the software if that's what you're saying yes -
Claimed one As above, great forum to be a part of; almost weird how active we are but how little you see glanza's roaming about the streets!

(4EFE -T) Emanage Ignition harness - Intermittent starting
jimlols replied to jimlols's topic in Electronics
100% Tried a few variations with stuff like that and got no where, tried completely clearing the map etc and not got anywhere. Still got a few more things to try but haven't really touched it for a bit due to being busy -
(4EFE -T) Emanage Ignition harness - Intermittent starting

Update on this: had the cover off the ECU (mine is a slightly different model number it turns out) and my IGF is one up from most pinouts I managed to find on the internet. (8, as expected when looking at the plugs) On the negative side we still haven't got this to start with the IGT tapped into the emanage after trying a few ideas we'd come up with; got a few more things to try based on some help I managed to get from a few other generous people but the jobs are a bit bigger than anything we've tried to far! -
I'd considered this for mine, bar the fact drum brakes look like arse I can't really see any particular use to it for the chassis tbh!

I complained to the original buyer and zisco; due to it not been the original buyers fault. I'm not complaining as a whole due to zisco not bothering with me, the situation was eventually forwarded into a group chat with me, the original buyer and zisco in which zisco denied any wrong doing despite multiple screen shots of what was requested etcetra. In the long run I did not loose out, but I am not happy with how Zisco treated the situation, how they responded (quite aggressively saying we didn't understand and it was our fault even when provided with highlighted screenshots stating otherwise) or how they treated the situation with the original buyer after I sent it back to him (the conversation continued in the group chat once I had sent it back).

What model corolla did the 4efe come in?
jimlols replied to dangeestarlet's topic in Lifestyle General
Any 1.3 E11's I believe; possibly others to but my E11 100% had a 4EFE -
Seems there's a few of us well on the way to having 4EFE's running with turbo's now; just with slight variations between the setups! We have one here that's more or less finished just trying to work out how to get an Emanage to actually tap into the ignition timing propely without causing problems

Just wondering if anyone is heading there for this one, there's a few of us going from the Middlesbrough/Guisborough area as we normally go down early via stokesly/hemsley on the epic B1257 route. Yorkshire Big Breakfast - Sunday 12th October 2014 It is that time of year again, the last big run out of the year; the Yorkshire Big Breakfast at Specialist Cars of Malton. Sunday 12th October 2014, will see thousands of drivers meet at Malton from 8.30am for a bacon sandwich and a chance to look at some of the finest metal in the North of England. Now in its 7th year the Yorkshire Big Breakfast has grown to become one of the North's premier multi-marque car events with every kind of sports and classic car in attendance. We've had over 4000 people attend the last events and this promises to be even bigger. As always everyone is welcome, no matter what you drive (or ride, motorbikes are of course welcome), please pass this invite on to your car clubs, owners clubs, friends and colleagues, it is the mix of makes and models that makes this event so exciting. As you can imagine due to the scale of the Big Breakfast we have a hefty police presence to ensure the event remains a fun, safe and enjoyable family day out. We hope everyone will help us to keep the continued running of the Yorkshire Big Breakfast viable by driving sensibly and enjoying themselves responsibly. We're working closely with North Yorkshire Police and implementing a professionally managed traffic management plan so please follow the directions of our marshals. Once again the one way system will be in place, entering at the Malton side of the business park and leaving at the A64 side. See you then!

(4EFE -T) Emanage Ignition harness - Intermittent starting
jimlols replied to jimlols's topic in Electronics
I'm not disputing this, it just happens that the IGF on mine must be in a different place on the pinout - but we dont think this is causing our problems as we aren't touching the IGF at all, only the IGT. I understand what you're saying, but before we tap into the IGT the car works fine Cheers -

Zisco were asked to supply an Emanage blue loom to another member on here for a 4EFE-T bolt on turbo conversion; they supplied a 4EFTE plug and play loom rather than what was asked for. I bought the loom (along with alot of other items) off the seller before he had tried to use them, due to this he had not realised Zisco had sent/made the wrong item. When I tried to deal with them about it they blamed the seller they made the item for originally claiming that he had asked for a 4EFTE loom and not 4EFE-T; even though I had been given screenshots of the original conversation between zisco and the original seller where to me it was blatantly obvious that zisco had supplied the wrong product. Whoever was messaging for zisco (I believe their was two people due to varying levels of english knowledge) then procceeded to rant about how they were not wrong, how they supplied the right item and how its not possible to wire an emanage up to a 4EFE na motor (which is fair enough if they think that, but why not say that rather than assuming a person must want a different product due to this?). At this point the original seller refunded me and I returned the product to them. I observed the group chat for a few days where the original seller and zisco were still discussing the issues and once again zisco just generally came off uncaring and incomplete denial about the misinterpretation of what the seller originally wanted. As far as I'm aware the original seller still hasn't been given a refund. I apologise for any failed english/bad explaining in this wall of text; TLDR: Zisco made the wrong product, won't accept responsibility and won't refund as well as generally been unpleasent in a customer service respect

Bought a few things from Jamie for a turbo conversion, all came in brilliant condition and well packed. We had problems with a loom that was supplied by Zisco in the respect they supplied something completely different to what was required; Jamie straight away accepted a refund on this item when Zisco wouldn't deal with me about it and I massively respect him for it. Would 110% buy off him again and thank him greatly for helping me out.

First of all: Apologies for posting in the wrong section, will more or less admit I'm trying to get views on this ASAP so the problem can be solved and the car can be based mapped and ran for a while before eventually getting it booked in for proper mapping. If a mod really disapproves I offer my apologies and obviously will not dispute the topic being moved. Okay, so me and a few friends have recently been attempting to do a bolt on turbo conversion to a standard 4EFE engine. All the mechanical side is complete and working correctly; as is the fueling side of the Emanage. The harness for the ignition side of the Emanage finally arrived so the idea was to set about making a base map to run the car safely on boost but there is problems with the car starting when the is harness wired in. Whenever the ignition harness is wired into the ECU the car turns over fine but won't fire; sometimes for some unknown reason it randomly will fire and will start up (when this happens the car will run completely fine until switched off again). If the harness is removed from the ECU loom the car then starts up fine as expected. After not starting the diagnostics can be bridged and shows error code 14. The harness is wired in into pin 6 on the ecu (Ignition timing) the same as it would be on a EP82 ecu or the equivalent to pin 22 on a EP91 glanza ecu. To wire it in the original ignition timing wire has been cut and the harness channel 1 spliced in between as indicated. Looking at the pinout for the 4EFE ecu this is correct, all though I do appear to be missing a cable on the standard pinout. The car has no wire leading into pin 7(ignition feedback) but I assume this to be normal given this is how the car has left the factory...unless the woman owner before me had been fiddling with the ECU wiring... The Jumper settings on the emanage have been set to the same as they would be on a glanza/gt install except for the ignition out jumper (JP2) which is currently running in places 2-3 (12v) rather than 1-2 (5v), the position of this jumper does not effect the car starting. JP1: 1-2 JP2: 2-3 JP3: 1-2 JP4: OPEN JP5: OPEN JP6: OPEN JP7: 1-2 Rotary settings are also the same as a Glanza/GT install Rotary Switch 1: 2 Rotary Switch 2: 4 Rotary Switch 3: 0 Fiddling with the settings within the emanage brought no avail to getting the car to start, but the Emanage is definitely working correctly and this can be seen as it does fuel as it should according to the modified fueling tables and injector compensation. And just to reinforce a point from above: when it did actually start it managed a good 20 minutes up and down dual carriage ways etc without a single hiccup; until it was turned off. Not sure if its an issue with the harness, the emanage unit itsself or if its just been installed wrong with it been on a 4EFE rather than 4EFTE. So that's basically all the background information, I'll addmore if i've forgotten some but we really can't work out what is causing this problem. Hopefully its something really simple that differs between installing an emanage on a ep82/glanza to on a NA 4efe but so far nothing has helped and after a day of internet searching and trying to figure it out this is the last resort! I'll try and get some pictures of the actual wiring install once its light but darkness has come in after fiddling about with this all night. Big thank you to anyone who manages to read this whether they can help or not. Jims.

I understand they're cheap (this is the exact reason I have them on the back) but I think next time I need cheap tyres I'll be going back to Falken 912's, about £15 more for 2 if I remember correctly. they don't like lots of heat (i.e track days) but generally felt alot nicer in all aspects than the T1Rs do (This is obviously all my opinion and I don't claim to be a driving God, plenty of people use T1R's with no issue and as said; they're cheap as chips)
-
Got them on the back of my car atm with R1R's on the front, R1R's I'd recommend in everyway, T1Rs on the contrary are shit in my opinion
-
If you have the software and cable to plug it in to a laptop you could wire it in then clear the map off it before starting the car
