Have you had the block decked Iddy? Surface still looks dirty.

Looking good though, whens this likely to be finished?

Yes mate, it was decked and was super clean when I brought it back from the engineers. It was sitting around for several months though and unfortunately it wasn't as silver when I started assembling it. Everything else was spot on though (bores etc). Engine build is in slow progress now (I do a bit on the weekends) so I'm hoping to have it out in August.

Not far now just a few bits and bats. Trying to persuade him to focus on the engine rather than fixing his other cars lol.

The Sparco NS2s are staying as a second set of wheels and of course will be refurbished in a nicer colour.

The rubbish news is that my gearbox with the Quaife diff can't be used, it has an inner CV joint stuck inside which will absolutely not come out (I've even had a gearbox specialist company give it a try) so I'll have to use a stock a stock C52 gearbox that I have here! :(

An update on this.

I got the engine fitted almost a month ago, got everything connected up but the engine wouldn't turn.

So after a bit of quick bit of investigation I realized the clutch was fouling the gearbox. This was due to the flywheel/clutch being slightly thicker than the stock ones.

No biggie I thought, took the gearbox off and purchased an OEM LSD box. Modified it to fit and after trial fitting it a few times, the engine was freely turning (by hand).

Once again I got everything connected back up but the starter still wouldn't turn the engine. Checked and replaced all the earth cables, power lead, battery and finally the starter motor. Still nothing. Tried another starter motor which worked for about 10 seconds and then died too. Both these starter motors work perfectly fine when they're off the car! So once again I tried yet another starter motor which turned the engine twice and that died too (as if it's low on power).

I tested the power on the power cable and there was more than enough, the power cable was only about 50cm long (as opposed to the 3m wire used when the battery was in the boot). This is when I just gave up as my schedule is way too busy to be messing about with the car so she is now being broken.

On a brighter note though, none of the coloured body panels are for sale. Eventually I will return the car to stock (or near stock).

One last picture for now.

I have been reading quite a few people endup breaking up or going back stock.hate reading it especially when cars like yours are inspiration to others.but at the end you know best.best of luck, really liked this car.

With body work like that definitely best to sell as a nice clean standard car with some sweet paint and kit on.

Shame to see it not being completed but that's life really and with it rolling about even with a standard engine will be a good base if someone did want to build a monster.

Idrees, just a quick question, how hard is it to change the colour on the log book and howlong does it take to receive the logbook back from the dvla? as I'm tempted to respray mine a different colour.

by the way the car looks beautiful in that colour.

on the logbook (v5) there's a part that says changes on vehicle, then it says colour and you just put the new colour down, date it, sign it and chuck it in a envelope to the dvla , only cost you 50p for a stamp :)

He has owned it for four years, he has put a lot of time into making it how it is. Just a shame it never got finished. Might be just some yellow paint and a body kit to you bud but it means a lot more than that to us :)

Loving the stance on that... :p

shame he is getting rid... but no one has a gun to his head... If he wants to part with it, its his choice. Be a shame to see it disappear off ukso tho! Be nice to see it finished!

Dean from PukkaPerformance has bought it I think and he has the Blue 98spec Glanza and the Gt so he isn't going of the Starlet scene :)

Socks they are proper JDM :p sure you don't want them, think they are 16x9 ;)
