Bourkey
I know. I've got a few good bargins recently but they are my favourite i think. Really comfy like you said. All the adjusters work as well. That back box on the left is the one your having Idrees as well. Found out today we also have a few friends in the garage in the form of a wasps nest. My dad is gonna try and get it sorted for the weekend though.Bourkey

SiCaln
some lovely work there mate, your gna coat it in muck from that breather filter tho mate, u not gna get a catch can?
Bourkey
Yeah that is gonna be sorted in a few weeks probably. Im just concentrating on getting it in before my N/A packs in on me. It's not healthy at all right now as i haven't looked after it since September really. Plus the oil light is on now as well so i must be running on virtually no oil. It will be comical if it seizes up on me. Oh well 4EFTE tomorrow so no worries. Im picking up all the special tools for the swap later like the engine lift, low entry trolly jack and axle stands. I doubt i will sleep tonight as im so excited now. Nearly a years worth of planning and it all comes together tomorrow. Bourkey

StarletRick
James, you can give me a ring if you get stuck with anything while fitting the fte matey.
RobSR
looks good mate...however that piping off the LHS of the FMIC, looks very very restrictive...
Galliano
so how will you fit the seats? just take the rails off the stars seats and fit them to these? liek you would bucket seats?
StarletRick
they usually say run slimmer piping on the turbo side, it keeps the air speed up. then you have the thicker stuff post-intercooler to get the the voloume up. but those 90degree welded elbows do not look cool :\get some proper bends made up for them mate.
Bourkey
@ Rick - Yeah i saved your phone number in my phone when you sent it me. Thanks a lot. As for the corners, they do look a bit tight but i looked iside the tube and they don't look as sharp at all. Bit more curved inside. But you are right they are still a bit angular for me. Will change them evetually.@ Galliano- Dub Se7ev cut the Mr2 mounts off and welded the Starlet ones on. I might get someone to do it for me but it is relatively easy.Getting excited now. About 24 hours to go.Bourkey
RobSR
yeah i was refering to the bends not the piping diameter...bourkey you about this sunday, so i can pick this gearbox up?

scutch0
good luck buddy. should be acewhen its done... as streetracer said, take youre time. is there a deadline forhaving this done by? or are you ok to carry on working on it if you run into problems?only reason i ask is that when i was trying my 5efhe swap a few years back, i really didnt look into it too well, and only had a few days to finish it, so i gave up and put the old motor back in... as i couldnt do without the car.
Bourkey
Well my personal deadline is on Sunday by 2pm as thats when the Trafford Centre meet is that i'd like to go to but i can carry on until the following Sunday if anything goes wrong as i have booked a week off work.Anyway an update on the swap!!!!The old engine is unfortunately still in the car. Due to us struggling with some very tight bolts that had not been undone in a very long time. But we have not had any problems at all we have just been slowed down a bit. The engine is now ready to come out. The mounts just need to be unbolted and it's coming out, which i'll be starting early Saturday morning until Mark arrives at midday sometime. It has been a good laugh so far and im learning so much as we are doing it as is Mark. he also kept us goingwith a top up of chippy food and drink. OH YA!!! Anyway here is a few poor quality pictures from earlier.Alex the wizzkid!!!I'll update you on how we do tomorrow morning.Bourkey
Dean @RW-Developments
nice1 bourkey looking good still think your deadlines a bit tight lol! good luck
Bourkey
UPDATE!!!!!Engine is now out. It was out about an hour ago. We came across one minor problem as i didn't know how to get the drive shaft couplings out but a quick phone call sorted it out. I have just finished off adding the power loom to the new engine as the bulb who built it missed it out by mistake. The engine bay has just had a scrub up and we are about to start putting the new engine in.Bourkey
