Grant showed me the work he's been doing, well happy with the rear arch repairs so far, some good work going on there! I bet he's looking forward to taking it out for some "testing" when its ready lol.

it will have been the knock sensor mate.

the knock sensor is one of the leading factors in adjustment of fuel.

also taggy, you still have to show me this soon! haha.

still no news on a car for me yet though but when i do get one we'll go out for a drive so you can show me the best roads and take some pictures

What was the overfueling problem if you dont mind me asking?

The ECU couldnt detect the knock sensor on the car, so by default it pulls the timing and dumps more fuel in, its a safety feature if you car is detonating.

First thing is to test that the wiring is not defective from the sensor the ECU. The wire is black and on the large plug, its about the 4th one in. Get a multimeter and put one end in the knock sensor plug and then the other in the pin on the ECU plug, this will let you know if the wiring is broken or not.

If thats ok then proceed to change the knock sensor.

Thats how i fixed mine, i ended up having to put new wire in (microphone cable from maplins) cost a couple of quid, you just want the shielded stuff
