abbott
Looks like you're the fastest car out there. Brilliant mate Was great fun chap and not to sound big headed the only thing to go past me was a friends time attack evo and a ex seat race car more.Nice stuff - tyres were definitely doing the job!Yes would recommend all day long. MORE VIDEOS TO COME Well following my previous post with the car being revovered from brands due to a failure of somthing on my last session which i returned to the pits with a loss of boost, drove flat and a noise coming from the engine.I started off the weekend with giving the car a good clean after the track day. Then pushed it in the garage and jacked the front end up and put it on axle stands. Started by removing the powersteering and alternator belds. Then went on to removing the top cam belt cover which started the story of whats happened.1) part of the lower cover had broken and gone round the cam belt and ended up at the top sitting on the cam belt and melted.2) went on to removing the crank pully and lower cover and revealed even more plastic.3) looking up from the bottom of the car i noticed that the engine mount had come away from the block noticing only one bolt was in there and that just pulled out with my fingers, one bolt snapped in the block and 3rd bolt was not there. Pulled the mount out and left with a snapped stud in the block.4) because the engine starts up fine at brands but was flat and had a noise thought we would check the timing once its was in the position it clearlly showed the the belt had jumped 2 teeth which explains the loss of boost and engine feeling flat. So retimed, started up and bang on issue solved. New cam belt required but going to do a whole kit with tennsions.looking close at the mount the noise came from where it dropped on to the bottom belt cover which then broke and went round the cam belt and the mount ended up sitting on the tennsionor pully which caused rubbing.A good friend helped me out today and removed the snapped stud out the block which is a bit of a life saver as was thinking i may need to drop the engine out and drill the stuff out. Gave it a brake cleaner up and removed the cam belt kit ready for the new to be installed once orded.

abbott
Blimely, that could of ended a lot worse! Get the thread lock on there next time Yes mate very thankfull. Defently lock tighting those buggers inLucky you mate! Could have definitely been worse. By the way how did you get the snapped stud out?Yes mate for sure. Manage to tap it out with a flat head tap took 30minutes and was a releafe not to remove engine Got a new cam belt kit, bottom belt cover and got a new mount. Got the car back together and locked tight the mount bolts in so hope that will be prevent it happening again as the car has been through a lot of strain with track days. Following getting it all back together and everything running fine i booked the car in with rob to do its yealy leak down/compression check which was the following week and results were good and better than last year. Since then the car is back in the garage waiting for the next outing which will be soon i hope .Just a little update as to where the project will be going next and let the pics do the talking with a couple bits ive collected and will update as and when it happens.Updates to follow soon

abbott
Not alot to update on as the car has hardley been used since feb after the engine mount failureThe ep82 track car shell went off to a good friend which is now in the process of having a full weld in cage.On from that i ordered some new brake pads front and rear as there due for a change shortly.Another reason why i have not had much time is due to being apart of my friends time attack team supporting him this season. The 3rd round at brands hatch Time Attack i took the starlet for a drive down for the day couple of snaps where taken.A friend of mine from the starlet days years ago Rikko got in contact through ebay as he had some interesting things for sale while he was back from work abroad. So popped up for a catch up and took a couple of things off his hands which he had for sale.Route 6 clutch slave cylinder never used just left in its box juat need to give it a little clean.5efhe bottom end Not sure what the plans are with it just a opportunity to purchase this and leave it on the shelf maybe mmmmmm! The glanza is coming up for a oil change shortley so spoke to wardy who kindly sorted me out some royal purple xpr 10w40 race oil heard alot of good things about this oil and thought it was time to give it a go. So ordered up some new filters from toyota ready for the change in a few weeks. The car is going in for work to have a slight change on setup next week updates to follow
