first test drive last night..


and my GOD, its fast, and full grip in 3rd gear, with better tyres, reckon 2nd id get grip too..


so will see it at japfest..


i am still shocked at the smoothness even though im running 630cc injectors..


i would reccomend Omex, or another standalone to any starlet owner..

Am sure the rev counter works off the dizzy trigger input mate. So if you still have the wires for that, will be worth trying. Failing that can you not use the crank trigger?

From the omex install guide

The tachometer output can directly drive any tachometer that is normally controlled by an ECU. If the tachometer is from a vehicle where it was originally driven from the coil negative then you may need to use a ‘tacho driver’ available from Omex to give a voltage spike to trigger the tacho. Some very old tachos were ‘current’ driven and triggered from coil positive. Omex can supply a convertor box to allow these to work.

Was good to meet you on Saturday mate. Car looks great, and that coil set up is the tidiest I've ever seen!

been a while since updated..


but over the last week ive managed to finally fit my oil temp and pressure gauges with a sandwich plate and no leaks too which is a bonus.


Also fitted my c pillar bar, thanks to Jamie vf22 for that.


and did my air filter as don't want to run mesh tbh, this involved changing compressor housings as well..

Sensors all fitted with PTFE tape on threads to stop any leaks.

New compressor housing fitted and sprayed it gloss black, with air filter now finally fitted.
