plug and play ecu, been sold faulty?

U can test it at the map sensor on the two wires or the ecu side, as its not starting with the plug and play compare voltages between both ecu's on turn over, unplug king lead and take out efi fuse on the stock ecu testing just to get an even reading if u get me.

The seal on the Mines is broken, have you opened up the ECU ?

I had one of these and its a beast of an ECU, i really hope you can get it working.

theres a simple way to check to see if the ECU is compatible with your car..

put the 2 ECU's together and check the pins to see if they are the same

alternatively you can check it this way..

89/92 pins differ to 92/96 pins.. some wires are different and some are not there at all between ECU's

check your wires on your loom to ECU to make sure it matches all the pins.. PDF below shows the differences in the EP82 ECU's..

The best option for electrical/technical advise is TGTT. Although I would call UKSO my 'home' I tend to go to TGTT for really technical stuff. A few wizards on there tend not to use UKSO.

Yeah the starting issue turned out to be plugs... I bought it like that i wouldnt know what i was looking at if i did open one lol!

Ill try get a multi meter to do the map sensor and ill ask on tgtt also didnt think of that chris

Have you opened this ECU up? As seals are torn?

Some of these plug and play ECU's have light sensitive chips in them. If exposed to light, they wipe themselves I believe...

It was sold to me with the seals broken "tested working" by a member on here with good positive feedback..

I havent done anything with it other than plug it into my car.

Take a run down to Idrees and test it out mate... Best thing you can do at this point.. If it works then at least you know it's not the ECU thats at fault. If it doesn't work then return it it's quite simple.

No worries paypal have refunded me my money, will be posting the ecu back tomorrow. Micky boy has been very understanding of the issue however so i dont want this to be interpreted as bad feedback as i would still deal with him in a breath if needs be
