Rob H@RCH Engineering
Well I have been after a cheep runabout for some time and came across this on ebay for a steel. It needs a fair bit of work on it hence it was for sale as spares or repair. Had a ride to Dewsbury today to go pick it up, having a look round it I could see it needs a fair bit of welding doing all at the rear end, wheel arches both sides need doing, rear end of the n/s sill needs doing, a hole lump of the rear chassis leg is missing where it meats the panel at the back of the bumper lol, we had to swap wheels around on it as it had speed lines on it but they where sold separate to the car (for more than the car!!!) I took 2 of my speed lines to put on it to get it home on, while swapping the wheels round I noticed one of the front brakes was seized on, both rear wheel bearings needed adjusting and the n/s/r shocker was leaking oil. So the drive home, put some juice in it and off we went, It drives a dream nice and tight through the gears and runs sweet, only other thing I noticed was the exhaust it blowing a bit, It has no tax or test on it so im going to take my time and get it all sorted ready for the winter or before knowing me lol. Anyway hear it is!! Picks from the ad on Ebay Got it home! First job was to give it a good wash as it was minging to say the least there was all sorts stuck on it, gave it a good snow foaming and then washed it with concrete cleaner!!, then a coat of autobrite cherry glaze. It looks so much better now! Then sorted the brakes out stripped them all down and gave them a fresh greasing and and changed the slider boots on the front for some off a GT caliper, and changed one of the slide pins for one from the GT too. Then had a look into the knocking on the front end, found the n/s arb drop links to be fooked so same again robbed some off my GT shell I have sitting at my dads. The old ones wernt even toyota ones lol. I also swapped the rear shocks for the old ones off my SR as there was nothing wrong with them, the N/SR one on this was completely empty all the oil was all over the rear beam! Just this lot to sort now and the exhaust and give it a good check over on the ramp. The engine bay looks like its not been touched since it was new its had a new rad not so long ago tho, im going to give it a clean, put a timing belt kit on it and give it a service and thats about it! Thats about it for today not been a bad first day of owning it, I dont intend to spend any money on it im just going to see how much I can do with the few bit I have kicking around!! (any one thats been to mine will know I have a few bits). Edited May 31, 2015 by Rob H

Rob H@RCH Engineering
Well after much thinking about welding this rot box up I decided to get a Glanza shell ID-Workz were selling. I was going to cut up the Glanza to use the panels to weld up the sportif! But in the end I decided to turn the Glanza into a sportif lol!!! So here is where im at up to now! I picked up the car yesterday 24/10/14 and got it all set up in the garage! First job was to turn it round so it was pointing the right way to go on the ramp! My dad came up with a cunning plan! stick a plank of wood under it and put it on top of a brake disc! EASY!!! Then onto the ramp using lots more wood and jacks! and my dad reversing the trailer under the ramp! nice bit of driving I must say! Then the sportif in! and up in the air! who needs jacks lol Then the big strip down and swap round!! I had some great fun with the bottom arm bolts as both sides snapped and the bottom ball joint nuts were rounded off!! but I got there in the end! Thats the front sus on! And the engine out with some help from the wife! Theres quite a lot to do in the engine bay next as the glanza has some bits missing and the is a hole short for the wiring harnesses so I have that to do tomora and then get the engine in and the rear axle on!! plenty more to do yet! the full interior and all the wiring to swap over yet too! its going to be a busy weekend! Rob H@RCH Engineering
Cheers lads! Whell its all just about complete now just the rear bumper to fit now! had it running and drove it out the garage under its own steam! just needs the tracking doing and a MOT now then I can get it on the road! Heres some more picks! The glanza did not have the hole for the extra harness the sportif has so to get round that I did this! Started with a bit of wood in the lathe! Made a centring piece so I could drill out the hole! Then drilled the hole in the glanza! And fit the flange! Next job was to fit some radiator mounts as they had been cut off so I drilled out the spot welds from the one on the sportif and mad it fir using rive nuts and just bolted the other back on. I also made the slam panel fit in the same way! Then it was time to put the engine in with some help from the wife it was easy! Back axle going in! Swapped all the dash, heater stuff and every thing els over from the sportif too even the windy windows Ive not got any more picks of the finished car yet but this is all that was left of the sportif and thats now gone to she scrappy heres some picks of just how bad it had gone just take a look at the bit the panhard rod mounts to!! So there you go I dont think I did too bad to turn that around in 3 14+ hour days even if I do say so myself!! And I could not of done it with out the help from the wife!! she also made lots of coffee too that helps!

Rob H@RCH Engineering
Its just going to be a daily runabout so I dont have to keep using the SR turbo over the winter for a change and it gives me a handy practical car too I can use for carrying stuff around in.
