Caught speeding

Just wondering if anyone knows abit more then me about consequences on speeding

Got caught doing 99mph in a 70mph zone , luckily wasn't 100 !!

What did they say to you at the time as ive only ever got a fine and points on the spot

I'm gonna be brutally honest here.

Even of it's a first time offence, your looking at anything from 3-6 points and some sort of fine, speed awareness is only if your caught doing 15mph over the limit or under.

Heard some people getting off with 3 points and £60 fine, but anything upto 6 points and a few hundred fine and a court date, depends on whos viewing it tbh. Have you been done for speeding before or have any points?

Anything over 98mph is an instant ban I believe

Depends what road its on, motorway or dual, over 100 on motorway is a ban

i went through one over a year ago it flashed lol a was doin 90ish and never got a letter fine or anything. fingers crossed the same will happen to you.

same but I got even more lucky... ill explain in person if we ever meet, but the outcome was being done for 94 in a 74 (according to the slip), 3 points + 60 quid fine, rather than a ban and attending court.

My mate got flashed for the same, 6 points, £300 fine, a court appearance and in the photo they sent him he was pretty much slamming on through the camera lol that was on the M6, one of those stealthy gits standing with a camera on a bridge

Who says it was 98? You or the letter as if its you and it turns out was actually 100+ you will prob get a ban. How long have you had a license? And tbh 98mph is asking to be caught really.

I have a snooper worth its weight in gold! Amd mine also picks up laser scatter so detects handheld speed guns too.

Happend to me a couple months ago there is no leanency on this. I stated it was my first offence and they said tuff. So I had to take the fine and 3 points. Was doing 45 in a 30 got caught with a speed gun.

I was done twice in my last glanza, once overtook a undercover cop and lost him, phoned me next day and got a section something or other and then got pulled racing a bmw turned out to be another undercover cop , then pulled by another undercover cop in another beemer for overtaking a bus in a 30 zone even though the bus was doing 20, so all in all £180 and 6 points

Always be cautious with BM's and astra's I usually have a nosey at the local pound to see what's in haha

Fill in the documents, don't sign it and ask for a court date! They'll drop the case as the court will not accept the unsigned document as evidence!! This is why my licence is still clean 😊

Yeah i learnt my lesson now haha was a few years ago now though, we have civics, skodas, beemers and god knows what else undercover around here now
