It's been so long without pics, I've forgotten what it looks like.

Interesting.... I wonder if there'd be anyone there who'd even be able to answer the question if we emailed them. The designers are probably retired now hah!

Is a race spec rocker needed to run a catch can
Bluebear replied to Lawless's topic in Lifestyle General
Regarding the pressurised catch can when on boost, surely a one-way valve between the catch can and inlet would solve this problem? Either way, I was lead to beleive that: PCV >>> One way valve >>>>>>>>>>>> Catch can >>> Can exhuast to inlet before the turbo with another one way valve Rocker breather >>> One way Valve >>> ^^^^^ Was the best method. Surely this way you eliminate any positieve crankcase pressure. -
I've read that they're supposed to be the same weight, but rather it's the 5 spoke you're meant to run for your drive wheels due to the extra rigidity provided by the extra spoke *shrug*. Would look odd I must admit, but I like the idea behind it.

2/10 shit tier troll. Step up your game bro

You're saying a wheel weighs 500(!!!) kg?!

Turbo oil feed?

Commented on it regarding Volk 5/4s

I believe a set of 14" Volk 5/4s are about 4.5 kgs each, will check with mine whenever I get round to dragging them out into daylight.

Snap, I just lost mine today!! About 3 years ago, my brake caliper seized on my old N/A and heated up the centre cap to the extent it became a loose fit lol. Took all this time for it to finally fly off, never to be seen again May drop a line to you Iddy, it's the type that's carbon effect with fake screws in them that I've lost.

Stupidly hard time to find a KP6* in ANY form Welcome to the forum though! Hope you have luck in your search!

True, but if it's going to be on boost all the time on track, surely the officials would think, "Hang about... bit loud that."?
-
Nearly a week on and the car has been absolutely fine, no more loss of oil. Looking increasingly like the banjo bolt was tight but just not tight enough, and that my slight tug on it to check the bolt wasn't loose was just enough to nip it up. Also, that fucking screamer. I'm glad I'm deaf, it's loud! Just worried now about if I want to take it on track. I assume it'd be too loud for track noise limits?

Akyakapotter's Forged Glanza V

Looking good Nick! -
Isn't that the JAM one?
-
Now I know why you wanted mine! lol Looks well with them on!

Nialle told me about the Glanza, not good I live just down the road from Nialle myself. We're getting a right little Starlet community in Burnley, hah!
-
Tempting... Always a bit of a faff for me going on rides though as I have to fuck about taking glasses and hearing aids out before every single ride, bloody annoying.
-
I wonder if there's any Starlet clubs surviving in Japan, or if its just a load of ex-owners looking at our clubs and being sadface because it costs so much to keep an old car running over there compared to here.

Just to let everyone know, me and my Dad have no ducking clue what caused the oil leak. We topped up the oil, checked all the bolts on the oil lines which were tight, had the engine running, wiped off all the old oil, and was revving a bit but there's absolutely no leakage, from anywhere. It then got 3 good blasts out with regular checks to see if it was leaking oil again but the engine exterior is completely bone dry. Only thing we than think of is that the banjo bolt on the oil turbo feed must have just been nipped enough up when I was testing to see how tight it was. Odd though, as I never felt the spanner move. Going to keep an eye on it over the next week or so, see if it does it again.

Where are you based?

Well, I got the intercooler pipe needed back off my mate who has done a sterling job of cutting and welding it to suit the turbo. Took it out for a blast last night to see what the mani, decat and external wastegate are like, and oh my word! Feels soo much more better being able to keep my foot firmly down and not have to worry about boost creep and fuel cut! The wastegate has a 0.8 bar spring in it, so just a little over 0.1 bar over stock. However, on the way back home, the coolant temp gauge just suddenly shot up and engine light came on. Immediately killed the engine and pulled in to find the bottom radiator hose had popped off and dumped all of its contents over the road, turns out the hose clip was never put back on properly! Got the hose on, clip on, filled the rad back up again, started her up and temp was back to normal and no engine light on. Top job. Moved the car a bit and noticed a puddle darker than the rest, turns out it was oil! Now I'm getting worried, looked under the car to find the entire lower engine bay and suspension on the drivers side is covered, and I mean COVERED in oil, dripping. Started it up after checking there was still oil in the car, no knocking noises, no oil leaking out from anywhere on idle or on low revs. Hopefully it's just the banjo bolt on oil feed for the turbo not being tight enough at high revs Either that or my crank seal has given up on life. Seems to have come from the front of the engine block though, so hopefully it's the oil feed line. Gingerly drove it home at low speed (only lived a mile away from where I pulled in), and I'm going to give it all a good check over tomorrow. Must admit, screamer sounded evil
