  1. Awesome updates mate great attention with the belts
  2. Finally fitted the manifold with new brass nuts nuts and spring washers. I got the turbo back on too. Next, I’ll clean the front pipe mating face and re-fit the downpipe. Hopefully the rocker set up will arrive soon so I can get her started back up
  3. Finally socks! Fair play with the house buying, not easy while having two project cars
  4. Great detail, will be an excellent guide for people looking to do the same
  5. Great progress mate. You’ll be surprised how well it pulls with the actuator set like that (as a few people have mentioned). That’s around what mine is on and it feels great. good attention to detail as always
  6. Cheers for the comments, she’s getting there. I’m just really busy at work as usual so most of the time spent on the car is during lunch as I’m still doing degree work In The evenings (god knows why I decided to do one at my stage of life). Thanks, the manifold took some time and patience but really happy with it. With the exhaust paint just make sure you heat cycle it properly so the first time is just letting the car tick over for the paint to bake then let it completely cool down. After that it will be able to take proper heat through it.
  7. Next week it’s time to fit the refurbished turbo kit
  8. Began to freshen up a few brackets today. I was going to get everything powder coated but the finish I’ve been getting with the dremel a d hammerite have been great so that’s what I’ve gone for. I’ve also begun to replace the nuts, bolts and washers in the engine bay. Let’s just say I started off pretty enthusiastically but the novelty has now worn off. But it should all be worth it once the other shiny bits get bolted on.
  9. Ha you're telling me, i've already blown my budget. The hoses are 'TT Racing'. I'm pretty sure I got them from ebay but i'll look for the receipt later and let you know.
  10. Got the wheel on with a MOMO boss kit, no problems with fitting and the horn works. I think the wheel looks very period and the MOMO horn button does go nicely so thanks for the help with deciding.
  11. Thanks mate. It's DEi Hi-temp silicone coating. No worries with that, I had it on my GT-FOUR for years and it never flaked.
  12. But then again I did pay around £360 for a genuine TTE front lip
  13. It was listed for £75 and then removed a couple of hours later. I got an entire SR boot lid 6 years ago for £60 delivered 🤣
  14. Manifold and downpipe cleaned up and painted, now ready to be bolted on
  15. Just read it all mate great build and loving how it looks
  16. Ha ha yeah it’s bigger than I thought it would be but smaller that the original which has some wear to it
  17. Found a nice period wheel, chuffed with the condition for a 1989 wheel. Not sure which centre cap I prefer, thought I’d want the Toyota one but the momo looks nice too and it’s a momo wheel
  18. What wheels are they again? What are the plans for the car mate?
  19. I know mate, took a decent restriction out so should be all good now
  20. Managed to save the downpipe, very happy with how it came out
  21. How many have you got lol? Silver with silver for me or black wheels like this:
  22. Finally separated the aftermarket manifold from the other turbo that it came with. All was going well until the final stud which snapped, typical. I’ll have a go at it tomorrow lunch and I should be able to extract it. Happy with the manifold, looks well made and the welds look really strong. I did a little light porting on runner three as it had a decent lump of weld restricting flow. I’ll smooth it up tomorrow too. Thought i'd keep the parts progress together so have added a picture here of the repaired stud hole that I've now re-threaded. I just need to get hold of some new s
  23. Decent progress today. Got the drive shaft back together and on the car, nice and tight and worked a treat. Used two new boot clips but the boots themselves were in great condition so I just re-greased and re-assembled. The clip Toyota supplied me was the wrong one and actually for the opposite end to hold the universal joint on. Had a poke around at work and found a bloody shaft clip kit so just measured up the gap and bobs your uncle. Could’ve had it done two weeks ago!
