Yea I was thinking that.. -
You NEED to clay bar it first if you are going to machine polish it. Don't use a rotary if you've never machined a car before you'll get strike through almost instantly on Jap paintwork as its very thin. Buy a DA and go at it very gently with a cutting compound. Megs micro fibre pads and there cutting compound is very good.

I thought 370 was abit ballsy but fair play if it holds together. Most people run their rotrex chargers on them at about 320. Even that felt like a quick car so it'll pack quite a punch in an ep.

Got some more done today - stripped under the dash and got the clutch master cylinder back in. This weekend I'm going to underseal the arches, get all the front brake lines finished and hopefully get my through bulkhead -an fittings in for all the fuel lines. The state of the inside mid way through - dash now back in temporarily IMG_1134 by Rob Fisher [RobFisherPhotographic.co.uk], on Flickr Clutch master cylinder..excuse the overspray on the track rod ! IMG_1135 by Rob Fisher [RobFisherPhotographic.co.uk], on Flickr Got the bulkhead bungs in - the two middle for the heater matrix are different sizes so unfortunately they don't fit perfectly..anyone know of another part number for those? Just if you weren't aware you can still buy new ones from toyota. Neat job you've done tho -
That turbine is rather worn lol. Oil in Intercooler pipe is a sign of a failed oil seal on the compressor side.
-
Also what you've posted up there isn't a gear set, its just a final drive, which as far as I'm aware with the TRD one shortens all the gears and lowers the top speed. depends what you want really.

Mirror what Adam has said and for the same reasons i don't like helical diffs. Drove plenty of Quaifes and they just aren't as instant to lock up like a proper clutch type diff too. They don't clonk if you run them in properly and run the correct oil too. Always frustrates me when people say they do! They won't of ran them in or use the correct oil.

Thanks mate. Day off work tomoz so will try and get a few bits done. Still want the engine in by bank holiday but I'm thinking i might do the stem seals now too which may delay things abit. -
The thing that pisses me off the most is people who buy fake takata's and fake brides just to be 'scene' Fucking morons

R888's aint all that, when they are hot they go off after about 2/3 hard laps..A048's is what you want ideally. -

You got yours in ? What did you torque the clutch cover bolts too? -
You put it on retention which will cost £80. You can then sell it from the retention document. You can only really do a transfer if you own both vehicles at the same time. When you put the private plate on retention, you send the v5 and mot off with the form and they re-assign a reg of that age back to the car and reprint the V5 + MOT with the new details, all you need to do is then get some plates made up.

So, brake lines are all here from Toyota, just need to modify a couple of bits and get all those on. Clutch is due to come tomorrow / Tuesday too which means the engine can go back in soon! Now to decide on the turbo kit! -

Good news! Spoke to toyota over here and the majority of my brake lines are turning up tomorrow with the rest coming in tuesday next week with the grommets to block the ac and heater matrix pipes in the bulkhead. Going to silverstone on Sunday for the last day of the FIA World Enduro Championship so might not get all that much done on the car. Brake fittings turned up today - don't need this many but they'll probs come in handy having spares! IMG_1044 by Rob Fisher [RobFisherPhotographic.co.uk], on Flickr -

Yea can't wait to get it in there! Didn't think it was worth getting a competition clutch without the flywheel for the sake of a couple of hundred quid. But yes they do come with a flywheel. There was no mention of it on RHD so not sure if this is the rattle'y version or not ! -
