  1. Cheers. You can see that's it is corroded. I did think that myself. I'll give that a go now. I would be surprised if it was something more complex. Thanks for the speedy reply. I haven't driven the car since buying it 3 weeks ago and I am so itching to enjoy it. But whilst I wait for money to come rolling in I want to fix these little niggles.
  2. I try and not posting Help threads but this one has me a little stumped. Interior light doesn't work. Can't get any readings on my multimeter. Got a whole stash of bulbs but none of them work. When I bought the car, one of the problems was passenger window. Assuming the motor I bought an MR2 one. Now the MR2 one will allow current in one end and out the other (which let's assume is good). The EP82 does not. Swapped them over, but nothing. I'm not getting any noise or struggling or anything. Checked fuse box drivers side. All fuses seem to be intact, although the far left fuse is missing. The fuses under the bonnet are all intact. I am going to take the drivers door card off and test the new MR2 motor on the drivers side to see if that works so I can rule out the motor, will post back here once that's done. But if anyone knows anything then I'd love to hear it. Maybe the problem is connected. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
  3. I think I have one under my seat. Am yet to take it out and have a look. I don't get it though. Why would you want it?
  4. Item For Sale: Overflow Bottle and screen wash bottle with pump Item Condition & Description: A used overflow bottle that has come out of my recently acquired GT. I think the thermostat went on the car and the car has since been ran on water, rust collecting inside the engine has been spewed back into this bottle. I've tried to clean what I can but will want a good parifin to clean the insides nicely. Seems to hold water fine in both setups. Also still has the pump attached to the bottom. No idea of the condition of the pump since I've never used it. Price: £20 Inc postage Pictures: Payment & Shipping Details: PM me for payment details, I'll send via CollectPlus with tracking as soon as payment is sent. I need to find a box and box this item up so please message me here if you want it. Item is not advertised else where just yet so won't have a problem it selling to somebody else.
  5. Damn that's annoying Hopefully you can sort it. I bet it wasn't a cheap motor either :s
  6. Was driving around town in my gt last night with the idle around 2K. Turned out it had boiled off all the water. Topped it up and it returned to normal. So that's something. However I appreciate you said your coolant is fine, just thiught it was worth mentioning.
  7. Sweet Liam, I'll remember that and contact you in the future if I require more information
  8. Sad to see this get broken, but I wasn't surprised to see the engine trouble. I was looking to buy this but the engine would have been trouble. Do you know what caused it?
  9. Ah, I'll have to keep you in mind Liam. Still new to the forum so I'm not clued up yet. Plus my turbo has no play in it, but the owner before me was running it without a filter for god knows how long so no idea how long it will last. To be honest I wouldn't replace it with a CT9 anyway. Liam, how much would a TD04L be to rebuilt. I believe that is the common upgrade for these motors isn't it? Not that I own one yet, but If I find a cheap one on eBay then I'll send it your way to be rebuilt and sit in the cupboard till the fateful day when the CT9 goes lmao!
  10. Hi, Can I ask, did you have to modify the relocation to fit. Yours looks smaller than my one. Thanks.
  11. That looks really sweet, especially for a Yaris.
  12. I like the face lift ep3's myself. My brother has one and he's putting it up for sale to get a starlet. I love the Glanza's think they look sweet. But they come with that hefty price. Could pick up a sweet GT for about half the price.
  13. What year is the Type R mate? Depending what year might give you a better choice. Say for example face lift model EP3's are coming down in price. I'd sell it whilst they're still going for good money.
  14. internet explorer is just dreadful
  15. That's the right thing to do though. I've got too much of a guilty consciences
  16. Very smart motor. Will you be heading down to Japfest next year?
  17. Very sweet I like the standard ones Metal pressed plates look lush as well.
  18. Very nice. That's crazy cracks on there.
  19. Yeah read that one. I imagine it is one of those things that will be clearer when you're doing it yourself. Nobody bother with the Corolla Haynes then lmao.
  20. I've been raping the search bar Lmao! Don't you need something to lock the crankshaft? I've never done a cam belt. I've rebuilt lots of two stroke engines, still ramping about my first ever two smoke build, but never touched 4 strokes. I'm going to do the cam belt with my brother. He's done them before. I would take it to a garage but I can't see how they would want to do a better job than me. Just the way I am with things. I've been to some garages where they are really passionate about bikes so am happy to use them. But this being my first car I am yet to build up a relationship with any mechanics. Bikes are easy though to be fair. I've got a few things on my watch list for this. Want to get this done asap so I can drive it around all honky dory. As said lots of history, just bought the car and the history for the last two years has been scarce. So I want to cover everything before I drive it daily. Clutch is going to be the next thing but again, meh about sending it to a garage. Thanks for the swift reply. I will keep using the search button. Very good tuts on here that I've been reading. Really good forum.
  21. Hello, I don't want to start a new thread cause there is lots of information. I just want to know what quality parts people have been using. I'm thinking about buying the parts from id-workz. Will this be okay for belts and the pump or will I need to go Genuine? I've worked on some vehicles where for some parts you have to go genuine. Also what specialist tools will I need. And does anyone have a link to the correct corolla engine Haynes. Will the 97-01 corolla Haynes be okay. Has the 1.3 engine on the front. I take it that is the 4efe non turbo engine. Any help would really be appreciated. Lots of history with this new car, no cam belt receipts so that is on my next list.
  22. Alright mate, appreciated. The systems had a good flush, but I'll get onto the thermostat right away
  23. From what I can tell, the water expands, boils over, whatever and continuously fills up the expansion bottle. The chap before me was like keep filling the radiator up and the expansion bottle and I knew that wasn't right. They've been using water for far too long and that hasn't helped you can here it move from the radiator to the expansion bottle. As I type I'm leaning more towards the idea of the thermostat being faulty, that slowing down the flow of water so it doesn't pass through the cylinder very fast and that's what is causing it to boil over. So my next question, I see idz works do a replacement thermostat for 10er. Are these okay or should I fork out the whopping 90 quid for one. Seems a little overpriced.
