The full kyb range is not available in europe. I have dealed with kyb direct and they won't do it. It's worth rembering that This forum is for the members and not the traders. Without the members there would be no traders. I want a set of these my self and I if I can help other members by helping them get a part which currently is not available great. This thread is to see if anyone's interested in some dampers not another chance to block a thread before its even started. It may be that is going to cost £500 per set which If so it's obviously a non starter. Let's give this a chance first though shall we

Cam skill only list the oem replacement kyb dampers for the starlet which can be bought from most places. I am not starting a group buy I am asking if anyone is interested in a set of sr special dampers from japan. I will not be supplying them

I have been trying to source a set of these dampers as I don't like coilovers and these are a nice set dampers. I have the chance of possibly importing some so I wondered if anyone else would be interested. This would make them cheaper. Currently I don't know a final price but I'm just looking for serious interest. There is next to no available uprated dampers available in the uk so this is the reason to import them. I am not trying to make money on these I just want to make these available for my self and others. Any interest?

ive had a few of them over the years. Theres not many round here really. Im just outside workington. I normally come through for marks CPM meets so i will keep a look out for your car.

I got a break in the weather today and got some new better pics. A guy said he was coming to view the car today but never turned up, why people do this i have no idea. its not a scratch in this picture its a reflection from the audi next to it.

Theres some good story's on here a good read. It seems alot of people didnt know what they wanted to do and have ended up in something completely different. I ended up going to 6th form with no idea what i wanted to do. i had an interest in computers as i had been building them for years at this point, but then cars came along and i lost interest and got bored with computers. Applied for electrical apprenticeship, mechanical but somehow ended up with a process apprenticeship. I finished that and i was on shifts working in the paper industry on big equipment for 7-8 years. I would get fed up of it until i got my ten days off every cycle with a decent wage and plenty of time off to play with cars. After buying the house and stuff i started looking for something else. I ended up getting into a quality engineer role in the nuclear industry off shifts and more cash. win win. At first i was agency working as a ltd company which was a bit of a gamble but after 6 months i got converted to staff. Im currently studying a course work paid for through Darlington college which should be good for the cv.

Cheers James, it is a nice grey, if it was just another black gt i might have not bothered with it tbh Im a bit of a lurker i never completely dissapeared. Its good to be back in a GT its reminding me of the fun i had in my white toms gt years ago. Its strange the botches ive found as the car is in very good condition cosmetically and the engine box ect is mint. its like the exhaust has been bodged to get it through an mot quickly. im not fussed i just wish i could get hold of a hks silent power system to replace it. I would like to see if i could get some kyb sr shocks from japan too but im not sure the best way to go about it. I got the decat fitted it didnt seem to make much difference tbh. I think the main thing holding the car back is the stock actuator, its so weak i can open the waste gate right up with my hand. That and the stock intercooler. Im not going after big bhp i just want to help it shift along a little.

do most people just bolt these on or have you welded them?

have you checked the timing? thats something i would have a look at and get a timing light on it.

I just saw your pm i was going to link you to this thread. It was strange about the text saying it wasn't getting delivered, but it did. It might have been a bit of a mix up as my mum got a delivery with the same courier at the same time so maybe it is a bug in their system or something? I should have it fitted in the next week or two, i just need to finish porting the manifold, the oil feed and return to come and an get arc intercooler, a hks silent power exhaust. It might take a bit longer then actually haha.
