nice update mate! the race tech exhausts are the best ive ever seen. everyone goes nuts wanting a jdm exhaust but rickys are much better quality. i would love one on my ep85.

yeah thats right chief hahaa i cant believe that. have you got a starlet now then? nice to hear from you. i never fitted it in the end, but when i sold my old one i gave away all the spares and parts i had as i needed to make some room. i should have kept that arb!

na ive done the vts swap before and it was more hassle than its worth. this ones too good and original to convert. it will be staying 8v!

nice to see a mk1 been saved not many of them about! i always wanted a 2 tone or grey mk1.

Well i seen this on ebay and saw how clean it was and a few people off axoc said it was a minter so i ended up winning it and just got it back before. its a 92 with 48k miles 3 owners (an old lady for most of it) completely original full service history its had a fortune spent on it. its a really good one. it drives really nice, everything feels nice and tight, much better than my old one. and.. NO rust! a few pics! and back in the garage now

you wont regret it john. the 4efte is a great engine but you cant get away from that its only a 1.3 as soon as i drove my 5e up the road for the first time i could tell the difference straight away. im glad i chose 5e over another 4e.

its definitely worth doing mate its just a better drive. mine spools this vf35 quicker than a 4e spools a td04l, theres no dropping gears to get boost or overtaking just foot down and the boosts there.

yeah thats right john. ive drove a gt with the same power and yeah it pulls all over the road lol. yeah its just an old td04l map i added some more fuel in for the 5e. i could have got him to adjust the map and sort it out more but theres no point when its going back in a few weeks for the dta ecu ect. im looking forward to finally getting some progress on it and getting some more power out of it.

well had the beast on the dyno and i was quite surprised at 1 bar it was making 240 odd then i turned it up to 1.1 and it did a few runs then he took a bit of fuel out of the top end and it made 252.3bhp 243.5ft lbs 5e torque! its making peak power at 5800rpm too which is nice. he said he could play with the map some more but there was no point since in a few weeks its going back for a different ecu ect. heres the graph and a video of the earlier run dyno vid also this beast was in! hill climb monster running a short stroke hyabusa engine super charged! he had just rewired it and fitted a new dta on it.

I've sprayed on schultz using a compressor and schultz gun its good stuff. dont put it on bare metal though make sure theres some paint on what your spraying it onto and dont spray it on too thick or it doesnt dry right and bubbles up.

I don't think its anywhere near 250 ish at a bar. If he wants to have a play with the map, boost or try the bigger injectors while I'm there it might be interesting. I need to order a few parts for when it gets fully mapped, just to finish it off. There's a few things I want to try out on it too. Video of it should be up tomorrow night all been well.

It's only running a bar now, when its mapped it should be 1.5 which will be the turbo maxed out I think.

well ive finally got this booked in on the dyno for just a power run at least tomorrow. any guesses at what she will make? it is running a bit rich so im going to say 205bhp

ive got the wms "heavy duty" kit and the breaking power is great on my ep85. the rears dont need uprated. nothing wrong with drums on a light car.

drop it onto the floor or onto a trolley then lift the front of the car up and pull the engine out.

that sounds familiar. i know Dave b always said to fit them behind the gearbox. alsso you want the tip of the sensor (the part inside the exhaust) pointing down at a bit of an angle and the end out of the exhaust pointing up.

this is where they should go not in the down pipe as it decreases the life of them. in the manual it says how far they should be from the turbo.
