  1. Welcome. These cars do take a hold of ya.
  2. Welcome. Get a build up as soon as you get one.
  3. Morning, how are you getting on with this. Great weather for moding.
  4. Lovely styling, I'm really enjoying your build. Keep the progress coming. I'm back at work in Oxfordshire now so my cars back at home, and I'm itching to get back on it.

Hi. Sounds like fuel cut (over boost conditions) and around the point the td04 makes full boost pressure. First I'd remove the spark plugs and check they all look the same none blackened or damp with fuel. Then check your waste gate/boost pressure regulator system & intercooler system. Nice spec list.
  6. Great progress. I'm a big fan of these cars. There hard to beat.
  7. I'm running a vw set atm. For the road there really very good very comfy ride and great rebond rate not much nose lift on hard acceleration, or weight shift on hard braking. I'm really In pressed. For a road going daily driver there spot on. All my original shockers were well past there best, (crazy body roll & nose lift, lift off over steer) with the strut rod strength leading to it bending under load. (Suspention deflection). The VW coilover sorted all of this out and reduced the ground clearance. The progressive spring rate is designed for the roads. A real bargain.
  8. Ive recently ordered a set for the lotus c64 box I have here but I couldn't find any for any other c series Toyota gearbox. Saying this I've just been emailed off this company. https://midshipgarage.com/products/toyota-lotus-carbon-lined-synchros-for-c60-c64-6-speed-transmission?variant=13679464153193
  9. Thanks. I've hit a tipping point now were a bigish mod or mods are required to push forward in power, this I don't think will be of any benefit to speed\proformance. Time to start working on torque levels and spool up. Parts to come: copper .6mm head gasket, thermal protective inlet manifold gasket, under chassis fuel cooler, light green 3sge 372cc injectors, twin plate Audi throttle body, corrola tubular inlet manifold modified with a bigger plenium chamber and finally anti lag induction system. The aim now is to fill the rpm range with as much torque as I can, I'll be
  10. Yeh. I remember watching it all out whoop some of the greatest cars known to date. The other engine was the 2ltr cosworth and the vr4 2l 4g63 Evo MK1 the last of the all out power designed engines. 12 to 21 mpg if you go slow.
  11. Yeh the standard way to be able to adjust ignition timing on these running piggy back ECUs is to set the dizzy/ignition timing 10deg advanced so as to be able to adjust it on the piggy back. There's a video on build thread explaining how this is done and why. Did you mark the dizzy up before adjusting?.
  12. It's crazy how fast cars are being scrapped and vanishing, and the humble starlet and corrola I still see on the road. Just talking about this made me recall the 1995 wrc and it was Toyota destroying the rest. https://www.themechanists.com/2019/03/11/a-cheat-so-brilliant-it-was-applauded-by-rule-makers/ I'm trying to find the jtc corrola 3sge that could beat a integra type r on track and even down the strip. Even the Levin ae111 didn't beat it.
  13. Great work. Nice setup. Keeping an eye on this.
  14. I'm just looking into the beams engine now. High rpm capable. This engine is attractive. I'm guessing that this engine is undersquare because of its rpm limit. Also the 7age custom kit online looks very nice and the 16valve 4age head is a great pent roof chamber design 45deg big ports. From what I've been told the a series engine block is only slightly longer and taller than the e series so it should be a better fit. some of the gearboxes share the size drive shaft cups. The hp figures on the 7age is very impressive.
  15. Yeh that would be a powerful car long stroke big torque output. Last of the group b rally.
  16. Yeh the Nissan sr20 is a small stroke for engine size. Its what's known as a over square engine in the proformance world hp giver. Probably the best option for a 2ltr size in a small frame. Engines like the K20 and 3sge I don't think would fit at all due to the stroke block hight.
  17. Amazing engine hp giver. I've seen 1 in a Micra so I cant see yeh not. Big job thew.
  18. This has arrived today. Its off a paseo 1.5ltr 5efe it's an additional support for the gearbox. I found this on another Toyota site were there is a good mix of cars from the ep91 era and was recommended to me. This was after my rear gearbox mount was ripped out of the casing recking my c160 box the other week (2nd gear launches from standing) I've had to fit the ep91 UK 4efe box,, which I could not swap over the Cusco lsd unit (it's does not fit). I've got a g6 box on its way.
  19. A few starlets there haha Hello from me.
  20. I've recently fitted these plugs after my NGK platinums heat range 6 required changing for a heat range 7. Because of the effects on emissions on the NGK platinum 7 I opted for a different plug and I'm running these that are dealing with the cylinder temps alot better and still have the reach of a heat range 6 plug. https://e3sparkplugs.com/
  21. There's some great work on this site. Nice styling.
  22. Sounds good. I'm checking out these turbos. Nice find.
  23. I'm making custom gauge and boost controller dash mounts today using apoxy resin and cotton sheet. First to make the molds. (Base and cover) Cover Now front face pannel and to use body filler to refine the shape and edgings. Getting there. The red shaded area will have around 12 warning lights fitted with symbols: coolant level, fuel pressure, boost pressure, charge temp, engine block coolant pressure ext. The yellow dot on the image will be a shift light.
  24. Typically for this engine around 5khz to 7khz. But you can hear it. This works in the human hearing range it's an amplifier. It will not display specific frequency's and phantom knock is always a problem. But it's a handy little peace of kit. I came across this on other sites and on u tube. From what I can tell it operates in the range of 20hz to 20khz. This could also be recorded and there's some handy audio software out there that can analyse and narrow in on specific frequency's. I've wired the knock sensor to the stereo ear using correct 2xpin vauxhall electrical plug and
