  1. Looking smart. Following this. Congratulations on the design.
  2. There seems to be afew ways of doing it. What kind of power are you after.
  3. Good to see your back. I hope you and family have been well. Can't wait to see any and all progress on this ep, I'd be interested in the cams. Do you know the lift and duration I can't find much info on them at all.
  4. Keep us posted. I have a 2nd ep91 forged 5e build on the go also and I'm looking at either the mega squirt v3 or aem stand alone. So all this will help me out.
  5. I'm on the aem f/ic 6 piggy back. This was already installed in the vehicle when I bought it and I've installed a Jacobs electronics single 64kv dry proformance coil, on the factory dizzy I did this because I was getting poor spark plug proformance around boost build rpm 3krpm to 4.5krpm on a tdo4l hyb. This is the rpm area that first sees boost pressure and is required to respond fast with a great amount of torque output from the motor. So you could get jerking. Check your spark plugs over and try closing the plug gap to .6mm see if this helpes. If it does get a new coil. With the 64kv
  6. How old is the wide band or are you using a gas analyser. The speed vision cams do promote high rpm power with cam overlap this will impact your low rpm afr, so trimming off the fueling might be what is necessarily. What turbo are you running and rpm range.
  7. I'll ask around I'm on about 10 different Toyota site's, with the corrola owners being outstanding on parts as well as knowledge of interchangeable Toyota parts, and tuning these engines. Some exceptional Toyota know how people. As well networking the hell out of the NW and Midlands areas for Toyota breaks and car meets. Takes time but well worth the effort. The only thing I can't get is a corolla inlet haha.
  8. I've got a 200mm helix friction plate, (can be seen on the fensport website ae86 parts) here never run, and a brand new very low milage Asin 4age pressure plate no marks on it at all. If your interested. This is the same pressure plate as the exedy stage 2.
  9. Picked this up today for a steel price. And gave the g6 gearbox a motorway run.
  10. Main difference between the UK ep91 1997 starlet C series 5speed gearbox and the g6 6speed gearbox The end caps are the only feature that tells them apart. The alloy cap is the 6speed, you can see the bearing sets in the alloy end cap casing these additional gearing sets are only present on the 6speed boxes. And the c56 glanza gearbox and c52 GT box have the alloy end cap with out the additional bearing set as can be seen bellow. In order to fit the 6 speed to the ep91 and ep82 You need the gearbox and either an aftermarket short shifter o
  11. Top quality work. Great to see this level of attention to detail.
  12. I do need new topmounts thanks for this. Let's rebuild and mod them back to life.
  13. New parts are always a great start. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
  14. Thanks for this information I'm swaping my cd clocks out for the paseo soon.
  15. Thank you. if possible, what rpm will you be opening the big runners or does it open up both sets?. Was it the 5ehfe cams you had installed.
  16. Interesting. From what I've read speed cut is 110mph, and the speed cut defenders are the best option, these also convert kph to mph. How have you converted kph to mph.
  17. Hi there. Get some pictures up. These engines aren't half good to modify and parts at the minute are cheap
  18. I'm very interested in your modification. Do you have a build thread.
  19. Yeh all information welcome. From what I've read on the matter on transmissions on these it's a very gray area with most people foucesing on hp. From what people have shared with me anything over 300hp and it's a guessing game as to what will break first, but you know it's coming. It's always handy to know how the transmission plays a vital roll in speed. High hp normally delivers better 70 to 160mph times. At a cost to either reliability or low speed mph times. The 6 speeds because of there 4+:1 ratio final drive aren't a match. At this point I'd underline the starlets shape and it
  20. Depends which 6speed, I'm making my way threw opening them up. To put a hp limit on them is not really the aprouch I'd use. The 6speeds have better bearings and more of them so hp it can take torque is another story with a sharp rpm hit the problem. Alot of them have slightly narrower gears but only slightly. The 4+:1 final drive and the very close gear ratios smoothen out the mph build (it feels like 1 gear) removing load from the engine and in turn the gearbox. There's alot better in corner gear/mph selection making for better out of corner acceleration. The draw back to unloadin
  21. Best type of cucumbers. Can't beat a good ep80\82\85.
  22. Plus I got this paseo mph dash from the same Toyota breakers for 35 quid. These will be easier to read at speed. The all black cd model and sr model dials are not the best to read on hard pull.
