  1. Cheers dutchie. Yeh the lad has put that the carriers off the ae101 corolla 1991 to 2000 are needed and a ever so slight modification to the caliper, a slight grind on the casting. There is mention of Corsa c gsi brake discs with spigot rings or MR2 MK1 no rings required. I've had a look for bzr calipers with no luck. So I was hoping to find a more common caliper and pad arrangment. Thanks for the side by side comparison picture the calipers look near identical. In the first picture of the GT turbo arrangment you can see the difference in the pad carrier alot more
  2. Yeh sorry front calipers. There's somthings I've been sent about switching sides so it must be using the right for the MR2 on the left starlet side. Could it be the position on the MR2 hub radial or axial mounted??. I was thinking the rears of the MR2 might be the units he was referring to with it being a mid mounted engine at first. I'm waiting on a reply from the lad. These are definitely the front MR2 mk2 calipers but to me look inverted on the 1st picture on the GT turbo bleed nipple pointing up. R marked on the caliper for right o/s and L for n/s.
  3. Ive just knocked this up on one of the gearboxes I have here. Strengthend rear center engine mount. I'm going to paint and fit it to the 6speed starleto. Productive 2days back to work tomorrow. Also some information I've been sent about the water pump impeller I'm running. This and a low temp thermostat really allowed some good boost pressure to be put threw the n/a engine
  4. I've been told about a very interesting front brake upgrade. Using ae 1991 to 2000 corrola pad carriers & pads (yet to be confirmed) , MR2 mk2 rear EDITED: MR2 mk2 front twin pot, singal acting (sliding) calipers and MR2 MK1 rear disks (yet to be confirmed) EDITED: Corsa c gsi 260mm brake discs fit using center spigot rings from custom spigot rings see dutchies post for ID sizes. I'm getting the parts together this month then fitting next. Because the caliper wheel cylinders will have a bigger combined volume I'll be using a mitsubishi carisma larger master cylinder. Pic
  5. Just fitting these now. As well as starting to reshape the front bumper/remove number plate mount from center to open up the intercooler flow path

    Motor racing.

Im a big Motorsport fan. I was wondering if any body has been watching the bikes or cars run this season's so far limited events. I had my heart in my mouth yesterday watching the gp. There are afew of the top runners that are so far Infront of the rest it's becoming a two class event. Also I was wondering if any 1 can recommend any motor sport documentaries or films to watch as I'm running out of options.
  7. Yeh forget these I think you can still get them from Toyota plus the speed vision units are alittle better for peak proformance. Would be amazing on your tune, and a overall different aprouch to tuning the 4efe + t. Never done from what I can find. I did find a 5efte running a gt17 on speedvision cams running a g6 box the lad was eating 300hp builds to 100mph. The gt17 came on boost around 2.2krpm (full boost pressure) He was telling me he ran along side ukso in convoy to the Silverstone show around 4year ago. He had all the 300hp starlet lads skratching there heads. He named Mat
  8. Waw bargain and if your running a fast acting/spooling turbo the 5efhe acis cams are the way to go these will give you continuous pulling power till redline. If you are on a turbo that spools past 3.5krpm to 4krpm then these are not for you, unless you can get the acis inlet manifold or corrola tubular manifold tuned in. I've just bought some speed vision cams for twice this price.
  9. Fantastic effort. How many entered and what kind of models were you up against
  10. I've just fitted the trd carbon fiber surround stainless steel gauges but the speedometer readout is off by afair amount so I've had to order a speed cut defender that has the right ratio to align the g6 corolla 6speed gearbox with the ep91 glanza v trd 160mph clocks. That's always frustrating. Picture is back on the dash modification page.
  11. Thanks. I equally like what you are doing, I could feel your pain with the cylinder head that porting looks really nicely done. Just at the present I'm working all hours so it's frustrating not being able to work on the ep91 it's bad getting parts turning up but just sitting there in the boxes. I'm interested in the steering bushings if you can point me in the right direction. Fantastic little cars and the parts are very reasonable priced.
  12. Thanks Im waiting on the front droplink roll bar arms and new bottom ball joints and top standard mounts. I can refresh the suspention. I've also tightend up the steering rack (rack to pinion gear preload) to give more road feel feed back and steering response. Makes a hek of a difference. At the minute it has the powerflex antilift kit which has started to wear so I'm going with the whiteline 1 this time round. It was used on track for 2xyears things are alittle worn.
  13. WANTED: uprated Kevlar 4e cam belt wanted or where can I buy 1. Thanks
  14. Front and rear suspention polyurethane bushes. New front top mounts and bottom ball joints. Polo 6n2 modified coil overs getting a freshen up. New front roll bar drop links. EPR bolt on wheel spacers.
  15. Nice cornering and control. How much do these weight in at.
  16. Thanks. Tidy seats, you won't get more JDM than GTturbo seats.
  17. You need to mod the bottom bracket and 4e pump to bottom bracket adjusting nut. Alignment issues. People make a bracket to align the 2 from the back of the 4e pump and shave alittle of the 4efte bracket off as it fouls the bottom/front edge of the 4e pump.
  18. I'm in on that definitely. I've just ordered a set of speed vision cams. Is this the MR2 MK3 roadster steering wheel. I'm after 1.
  19. Yeh it won't you need the 4efte pump and lines and bracket. Or you can modify the 4efte lowwer adjusting bracket to fit the 4efe pump. Or try what lukep did.
  20. Welcome along get stuck in its only nuts and bolts + amps and volts.
  21. Older Toyota coupe\2-3door cars seem to struggle with droping/worn door hinges. This and better body regidity and strength with a 4-5door car was reason I choose a 5door starlet. Thew they do weight alittle more. As always great read and work.
  22. Yeh I've had to really network to find the lads with guarges full of ep goodies. On my build I've recently purchased a set of trd clocks for close to £400 quid. And the lad has got tte stuff trd stuff skirts splitters spoilers. Hard to get him to sell any of it. I'm off to see a Serra owner that has about 3sets of 5ehfe cams soon, but again high priced.
  23. Pretty much got the design down of the piston, and you have done the hard part drawing up the design + getting the design of the rod made into a great product. After opening afew 4e engines you can see the level of wear difference between the inlet side (signs of wear on the skirt and bore) and exhaust side (no signs of wear) of the piston as well as the heat affects. There is also the odd shape of the combustion chamber, and valve angles which are the reason for the wear that is taking place on the inlet side of the piston on the power stroke. A side note here is when we are seeing
