2005 polo 1.2 12v 3cyl misfire
Sefton-EP91 replied to Sefton-EP91's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
Went to work this morning, unfortunately I forgot to take my phone with me but the plugs looks good. I have solved the problem which was my initial thought of coil pack. I done a diag test and found a cyl 2 misfire fault so I swapped number 1 & 2 coil pack and erased my faults and the fault moved to cyl 1. Problem solved. Brought a coil pack and fitted. Runs a treat again thanks for your help guys. Much appreciated. -
2005 polo 1.2 12v 3cyl misfire
Sefton-EP91 replied to Sefton-EP91's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
My initial thoughts were coil packs as they are quite a common faults as far as I'm aware my second port of call would have been injectors. I will plug her in tomorrow and feedback with my faults including some pics of spark plugs. The car has done 14k miles from new so hoping its nothing serious ... :/ -
Very addicting game, got it on ps4. As addymk2 said it takes a while to level up. I'll add you when I get a chance addymk2

I understand that this is a starlet forum but I know there are some clued up guys and girls on this forum that may be able to help. As above I have a 3 cylinder polo 1.2 12v 2005 that I am using temporally whilst my car is in for forging. I was on a small journey heading to Tesco's when the car developed a major misfire. It seems to be mainly on idle, the engine management light has come on but I haven't managed to get a diagnostic Machiene on it yet. I have heard that the coil packs are very common on them what's everyone's thoughts? I have also heard that they tend to burnt out exhaust va

Manifold Wastegate Downpipe Screamer If you still run the solid oil feed pipe to the turbo I highly recommend getting a braided one as the solid one have a tendency to break and dump your oil on the floor. Which usually means bye bye engine. These can be supplied by race tech at a good price Hope this is of help mate and good luck!
-
External wastegate, manifold with external wastegate flange, downpipe to suit if not brought as a kit should come with screamer if brought as a kit. Give Sacha a pm at wepr. They do some very good quality manifold kits and very good prices aswell

Ollie's white Glanza V... potential track build
Sefton-EP91 replied to OJB's topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
Looks clean mate saw the ad, was good price aswell! -
Happened to my dad a couple of years ago, wouldn't wish it upon anyone! People spend there hard earned cash on there cars or even vehicles for business use and then you get this. Feel for you mate and hope they catch the little fuckers.
-
Your best bet would be to go externally gated. Boost levels will be held solid! Does sound like a weak actuator though hope this helps mate!
-
I apologise I forgot the m9 spline socket! Glad that was cleared up
-
I would just get it done mate, if your having doubts then that should be enough to say just do it! Glad I could help mate
-
I'm not quite sure on prices for head skimming. If I said a price I would probably be lying to you In my opinion you should be ok, if it's not overheated or anything serious then I can't see an issue with cleaning it up. But then if you have time then go for it mate Glad you found some good info mate keep is updated on how your getting on and if you need any help don't hesitate to ask
-
If you have the time to get it done then it's always a bonus mate, If your in a rush then I would clean up both surfaces up as best you can and ensure headbolt threaded holes are clear of any fluids to ensure the bolts are torqued down correctly. Also make sure you torque down the head in the correct sequence. Again, this info is on the site just use the search bar for the specific info your after! Hope this helps mate!

It's actually not a bad job to do mate! Ensure you tension the camshaft when assembling. Ensure all timing marks are in appropriate places when assembling that's about it to be honest! Oh and take your time, there Is a lot of info on this site so you should be ok Good luck and hope all goes well mate Read this link when coming to do the tensioning of camshaft! http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/80525-retensioning-inlet-cam/
