Suppose it's not too bad if it's not your daily. To me ,it took the fun out of driving having it stripped out, but again it was my daily. FRP body parts, the tailgate would, help but I would imagine them to be really noisey.
Never worry mate, I an wait until the new year. Erm looking into making my own carbon parts at the moment, with things happening in the Jan/Feb time (hopefully) will keep you in the loop though.
60KG's would be some saving, can't really think where that could be pulled from. I personally wouldn't strip it, the noise is unbearable. Looking forward to updates all the same mate.

Do not start shaving pistons, it will be very difficult to achieve the same compression on every cylinder, even the slightest bit of material could potentially make a difference. I'm sure you could pick up a set of FTE pistons cheap enough.
