Well after the weekend of playing with little things I post a pic -
All gates belts are rated to 22,000 rpm

If it's bouncing around the 2k mark I would say it's some thing to do with the tps signal. Even tho your not running one

Crankshaft pulley noise?
turbo Grant replied to crawleysam's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
It could just make the repair more costly driving like it. If the crank pulleys loose it will fuck the end of the crank up. Then you need to sort out a new crank and what not. -
Crankshaft pulley noise?

I would do it sooner rather than later. And I wouldn't even drive it was making noises from that area and you have pulleys running out -

It's made a good difference. Front end feels loads better in the corners now. Just need to get some coilovers on before fest It's doesn't do boost by gear or rpm. Just a basic boost controller. It's tiny! I call it cute lol only has 2 wires to solder in -
Was so funny. Will have to get the vids up

Crankshaft pulley noise?
turbo Grant replied to crawleysam's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
You sure it's not the water pump making the noise? That would cause a noise. If the crank pulley is wabling around it could be the rubber breaking up. They don't tend to make a rattle tho. You can check the crank pulley buy putting a line of tipex down the pully and then drive it for a bit. See if the tipex marks line up after. But I would start off by taking the aux belt off and feeling the pulleys by hand -
I put 3 silencers in mine so it will pass sound testing easy, I hope...

If you want to run sequential you need an ecu that can run sequential and a cam sensor as well as a crank sensor. Semi sequential just needs a crack sensor.

I keep changing stuff lol so it takes longer but I'm in no rush to get it done and cut corners. If I had lots of money to play with it would be done ages ago. But I'm just pottering along getting bits done In between other jobs. But I must admit I've not touched the car in about 3 months lol

Can someone confirm the ECU wire colour of an EP82 Knock sensor, pin 23 (KNK)
turbo Grant replied to Taggy's topic in Engines
It's the black wire for knock sensors. White is for O2 sensor -

Front Mounted air filter is soaking this ok?
turbo Grant replied to JamesD89's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
I use a plastic shield that sat next to the small rads you find on the 1e engine starlets. I just cut it in half an slid it in between the grill and filter and cable tied it to the slam panel. You can just any thing really. Bit of under tray or cut the corner off an old bumper any thing really -

It's not great! I made a plastic shield to go in front of mine for bad weather use -
I would start with a new battery first. You can get it tested at a garage to confirm its fucked. I wouldn't go throwing a starter on it just yet.
