it common on cheap manifolds as they arent ever truely flat because they arent welded correctly they cause excess pressure on certain studs and the above happens.

i have had a few starlets, and every time i have bought another similar small hatchback i ALWAYS go back to starlets. i found myself thinking yeah this cars ok and i enjoy it i guess but its not a STARLET. the day i sold my first starlet to my mate to buy a 106 indigo blue rallye he steamed of ahead of me etc and i just thought what have i done,seriously i am a dick and all i could think about was the starlet and how much work i had put in and how it made me feel. so to sumarise and agree with others above,you can get other cars out there and they will be cool and ok but they will never be that hit of wickedness that you used to get from ure starlet good luck in what ever u choose buddy

i am not saying jays outa order at all or bad mouthing him, just saying it would be easier to be normal and feel bad and pay the costs and save this thread from beginning. i would hate to see this bad feedback for myself,i just wouldnt risk it. i would be distraught i promise you

little update with regards to the new parts the car has totally transformed and now feels a hell of alot more responsive,pulls better,starts easier(although never had any issues)and generally feels sooo much better for sure. would highly recommend people do it as it does make a huge difference i know theres a few traders on here that do ignition system overhaul packages and they are pretty resonably priced when u tot up all the parts prices etc, also fitted up a new driverside seat belt from aamir as mine was frayed real bad. all about the little touches !!!! lol

i cant understand it. forward him a few quid to send it back recorded,wether you knew it was buggered or not it is and its not richards fault whatsoever. if u did that as a good will gesture this thread surely wouldnt be here and neither would the comments that are continually and more progessively making you look pretty bad

never run water lines myself,i dont want the heat to transfer to my engine for obvious reasons td04 turbos are peanuts compared to a overheated engine

well a vaccum leak also equals a boost leak dude alot of the time. you can use a fairy liquid solution in a spray bottle over joins,vaccum hoses, pipework etc after pressurising the intercooler system.a way u could do this is maybe use the dump valve hose and connect up an air compresser of sum sort just dont soak ure engine bay to much and get the water in places it shouldnt be .

i was gonna say similar,if any parts arent correct (plug wise) then swap em over for the correct plugs of the old original bits. it will work fine

if i sold something and it was faulty, i wouldnt hesitate to pay the person who purchased it from me the postage to return it to myself. i would feel bad it had happened for a start and most importantly i would want to retain my reputation for being well alright and maintain my great feedback i have worked hard for. confuses me why this wouldnt be the case wether he knew there was an issue or not. then to be flippant and say "weel just go through paypal etc".....is it really worth the agro of it all ?? i would think not.

said in wanted section I was after a passenger seat belt as mine was a bit worse for wear. aamir quickly showed me pictures and said he had one for a very resonable price. he replyed to messages very quickly and is a very nice chap to deal with indeed. sent the item as explained he would via first class and I got it the next day in the exact condition he said. would recommend him highly. thanks again aamir.
