fucking gutted to hear man! I only had mine 6 months before the ringlands went fs (I appreciate you only had yours out twice but I still wasn't expecting it to go lol).. rebuilding the engine is costly, if your on a budget buy 4efte another engine for £400-ish and get it thrown in asap to get you on the road. Otherwise youre looking about £900 odds for parts & labour.
Going by those Varta batteries pal I think my terminals are slightly larger than those ones. So that one wont work unfortunately but thanks for posting. Yeah pretty much seems like these terminals have been changed then Dan. I think ill just call to a motor factors and try a few until I fit the right match since I have the dimensions of what fits in the bracket anyway, so I can narrow it down. Im gonna look like a right cunt going in asking for something when I dunno what fits lol!!
Anyone bought a battery lately an know what type battery they use for GT's? i.e type 054, 057 etc, cant find a definite answer! I know the cca has to be around 550amps but I need the exact type to fit the bracket... Ryan
Yeah might aswell give it the once over for peace of mind mate its not a big deal if its turbo seals anyway, you can pick up a decent ct9 replacement for about 50 or 60 quid on here anyway. If your even running standard turbo that is!
I wouldn't take what the previous owner said to be 100%. Surely if he replaced turbo oil seals the turbo would've been rebuilt and come with receipts? Probably same with valve stem oil seals bud.
For future reference, the torque settings for oem headbolts are relavtively low and can cause the hg to not be sealed proper.. they should be 30% more for the small bolts and 40% more for the longer bolts. Dunno if it helps but bear it in mind when puttin it back together!
The problem with most screamers is they are missing a dividing plate that seperates the two pipes at the start of the downpipe, i use a roadrunner twinpipe decat and it has the plate welded in from factory to avoid a blowout
