  1. Lol keep 'er lit Ive always oem shocks and found I needed rarb to keep the arse down. Before fitting it the car would oversteer, after fitting the car was more balanced although my driving style changed. I freely admit I drive like a wanker all day everyday. I kept my 145_70_13 until I had balanced the car to suit my style and thats the key, tune to suit your style. I have always said to fit a rarb as a first mod above and before all else. A starlet rocking standard everything to best improved by fitting a rarb, the re sale value of which will always be £100. Coilovers are £700 roughly these
  2. Is the, fuel smell from under the bonnet? Ive seen leaking or sticking injectors cause this by leaking fuel when the throttle was off. What mods have u and what have you changed recently. Have y all sensors in there proper place
  3. Filing or drilling the tin cover plate holes bigger makes the rebolting process easier too.
  4. I remove the dowel, push the gearbox on as much as it wants to then have a mate help me click it in the last bit. With the dowel out u can have the rear mount hangin low then just rotate the box so the mount rises up into position. Hope that makes sense. I had to do 6 clutches on the one gtt because the owner (unknown to me) kept buyin fake exedy clutches off ebay for £130 and I found removung the dowel to be the quickest way.
  5. Dude check if its just the handbrake lever and spring are seized. I cleaned mine and calipers freed up no problem
  6. Adam you have list the table that was made by some guy u dont know who lives on the other side of the worlds and who DOES NOT have access to uk cams and who has classed all 4efe's as the same. This is the problem with our tuning scene!! God damn read it online it must be true tuners.. Forget about it Im away to buy a honda at least they listen http://m41.photobucket.com/albumview/albums/weeJohn/Engine20comparison.gif.html?o=51

    STARLET SR wanted

Theres a mint jap spec ep80 on gumtree for under £500. Aircon, eletrics 100ps the works
  8. Anything now considered, lookin a cheap backbox or system.
  9. Get the glovebox aswell cherrie it makes the biggest improvement. You should post in the wanted section for glanza interior plastics
  10. Im more than happy for there to be no differences in cams, its just when I see all other nations declare there are differences and I see differences myself, well I have to stop and ask the questions hence here we are.
  11. Retorque your camberbolts amd check your rear engine mount and wheelnuts. Id be havin a mate let the clutch out while I stand beside the car qith the bonnet up and handbrake on
  12. Tein claim a 60mm drop. They are pretty stiff too, if it were me Id be cutting half a coil off them for 80mm drop...
  13. Adam, unless it can be brought from ebay or read online sadly the fe tuning scene is largely bolt on buddies. All other clubs recognise the differences. I have two 4e and one 5e and there different. Im goin to find a fte to check too. Would u mind measuring your cam lobe and then the lift? Haynes and all onlinw manuals list the camlobe as 41.5mm aswell I dont like hype so I wouldnt have brpught up the topic if I wasnt fairly sure. Ive also been telling people to use the 4afe throttlebody since 2006 and they still havnt twigged on. I fitted the super duper gen1 exhaust manifold and instea
  14. Lol at the placebo affect broony, I think your just not drivin fast enough
  15. Toyodiy.com lists the 96_99 uk 4efe inlet cam as 13501_11050 later spec cam It then lists all ep8 jap starlet, ep9 glanza and uk 5efe and 5efhe as having the early type 13501_11020 inlet cam I now believe that our later spec cams have less lift and duration which is still to be measured
  16. Part numbers: *EP82* 4E-F (carby) Inlet: 13501-11030 4E-F (carby) Exhaust: 13502-11020 4E-FE, 4E-FTE Inlet: 13501-11020 (superseeds now to EP91 13501-11050) 4E-FE, 4E-FTE Exhaust: 13502-11010 *EP91* 4E-FE Inlet: 13501-11031 4E-FTE Inlet: 13501-11050 4E-FE Exhaust: 13502-11020 [TYPE A] 4E-FE Exhaust: 13502-11060 [TYPE B] 4E-FTE Exhaust: 13502-11010 [TYPE A] 4E-FTE Exhaust: 13502-11050 [TYPE B] 5E-FHE Inlet: 13501-11040 5E-FHE Exhaust: 13502-11030 borrow from au starletclub
  17. Corolla 4branch manifold is fitted. No immediate improvement but I have a really cool exhaust note now. It lined up so well with my standard exhaust that it only needed 1 cut and 1 weld to fit, a very handy job. 5efe intake cam has made the biggest difference gainin nearly 10mph more on the 'flagpole to the flyover' dragstrip
  18. Another thread gone to shit. How comes the dutch n germans see 100hp easily without all this mad dog balls throw money at it stuff
  19. You can buy the e10 corolla exhaust manifold from ebay.de for £20 and the downpipe for £30 then have it welded to your exhaust for £5 and thats how u get a gen1 4_2_1 maniold. Or buy the obx one from america. Makes abit of a different but more importantly it gives the exhaust a really cool note
  20. No one knows the capacity of them either. Theres lots of different values quoted for them online 155 175 195 205cc, no one knows. The 4afe throttlebody (with spacer) from a 1.6 corolla or celica is 50mm and a direct fit for the starlt. Fair enough youll need the rubber intake pipe too.
  21. Corolla inlet manifold, 4afe throttlebody, four branch exhaust manifold in that order. Keep everything else standard and buy a cheap safc off ebay to up the fueling. When u get the throttlebody make sure and take the spacer too. Your standard injectors have a better spray pattern. If u want u can use the fte pressure regulator which ends in 040 as all the jap cars use it where as our uk cars use 070. I havnt tested the pressures yet though.
