  1. Lad its the bend in the front cross member have your chassis legs pulled in. get the front bit cut out of a breaker here and get the right bit welded in. I had mine cut n welded at the crease on the chassis leg just behind the headlight. Held strong even the next time I crashed too
  2. My first car. So many fond memories and adventures had in this car. 3 engines 4 gearboxes three exhausts, two doors 5bumpers two bonnets dozens of tyres and many many good times
  3. Google it again Ive seen a youtube video where they tested octane boosters and proved they made no difference even the £20 a bottle NOS stuff. Wont do any harm but its dead money. Youve changed the filter so jobs a good un.
  4. Yeah 50quid to register it and thats it. Beware if levins with 1.6 uk corolla engines as theres a right few here. Make sure its a 20v
  5. 145 brake in a retro metro, madmen. Are there any events coming up. Id like to watch those rev crystal starlet you guys mentioned
  6. Whats the problem here? Is it a fhe with a turbo n front mount? Cause thats not a uk 5e
  7. The vanilla thing is a caramel wheel. Ive never used one before. Iused a kettle of hot water and peeled them off. Scrapped the grey foam away with a old creditcard then used asda's sticky stuff remover. Id like the short piece from below your drivers door if u fancy posting it to NI
  8. Mk3 were the last good golfs. The mk4 was totally shit and overpriced. The po-lows arent bad. The good thing about vw is you can get a nasty durty whore of a yoke for £300 motd cut the springs, tramp stamp it camber the bitch and have.the best summer ever drivin low n slow safe in the knowledge that the wee sr is sitting, waiting like the loyal wee chariot of heroes that it is for your return. Sell her lad move on and enjoy the memories
  9. Ghost oh this is a fun thread. Keep it up lads its all in good sport so far. For £500 its a tidy car elsewhere and a nice colour. I would buy it and have bought worse from scumtree. Thats point one. Point two if someone doesnt ask if a car was ever hit or is hpi clear well then its there own damn fault. I myself never sell a bad car for fear of some tit crashing it into a family member or loved one, but thats just me I was brought up to be honest. In saying that though, if some bollocks sold a rear ended motor to my babysister Id be landing the shitheap back round to him and telling his mumm
  10. I cant see why he spent 8hours on a top secret rear camber project then wouldnt share any details and the only evidence was one photo :-(
  11. You can attach a meter to the diagnostics plug to show lamba sensor voltage.

  13. Man there arent many bolts holding in the suspension. The two bolts at the bottom of the shock need tightened with a breaker bar or wheel brace. Then there are the four bolts up top that just need sweetened up with a spanner. Best advice is to take it back to the garage fpr if it was MOT time the knock would be found
  14. You cab buy a turbo kit for the 7afe which is the same as your 4afe engine. Or do the starlet turbo. It'll be easier to turbo your own motor or fit the 7afe. Welcome along to the club
  15. The cap should screw on really easily then tight at the very very last. Try with no oil cap on, cover it with your.mates hand and you feel the pressure. It shouldnt be much at all. Do your revs rise or drop when u cover-uncover the oil cap hole. It should not. Male.sure your crankcase pipe and valve are not blocked
  16. Motion used the 5efe cams which are the same as the turbo cams and later spec 5efhe cam
  17. Yeah that will work just have the nut on two or three tgreads. Check out ryan langs build thread
  18. Finally coloured my grey indictors silver. Huge difference to the look of the car. Clean and silver instead of that dark look with just clear lens covers. Compare to my very first photo to see the change. I used a silver paibt marker from easons, at £3 it was cheaper than a can of spray and gave a much better finish.
  19. http://www.biz-e-kidz.co.uk/acatalog/Junior-Mechanic-Pit-Crew-Coveralls-with-Racing-Motif.html Google kids coveralls or mechanic coveralls etc. A printing place could iron logos to wee denim dungeree's Great idea by the way
  20. Go to a mechanic and tell them what I said. If you have been driving around like this for over twp weeks your vest just to go to a mechanic and ask him to take a look or listen to the car. £20 should be morw than enough to check it over, clean the throttle and set the idle
