Bump anyone breaking a glanza whos handy with a grinder. Just a few tac welds on this piece
-
@ rassy cheers for the input dude. Although there is too much play in the wooden cradle and youd find it tough to measure duration if its not timed up to the crank.
-
I hope so adam but that doesnt explain the pointier lobes on the 5efe. Ill have to borrow a dial and check.
-
I have a uk 4efe and 5efe. Ive just measured the intake cams and they are different. Does anyone who owns verniers able to measure their cam lobes. 4efe is 40.8mm intake 41 exhaust 5efe is 41.8 intake 41 exhaust Although the 5efe has less duration. The 4efe has low miles and the 5efe has starship miles so I cant blame wear on the lobes

Clock Conversion : Starlet n/a to Starlet SR cluster.
rmsnoel replied to vizzioarts's topic in Tutorials & Guides
Good right up lad wel done. The clocks and surroumd both come out the right hand side of the steering wheel, you have to put the clocks in backwards to start with. The speedo cable can be unplugged by reaching up from below- where the brake pedal is. Its just a click in type clip -
In the how to section. The SR-CD clocks need 6 wires swapped around but its really easy. Sometimes its a straight swap but its always best to check your wires first. Paseo needs a few more wires swapped around but again its fairly easy. You dont need to cut wires if u poke out the white security blocks in the loom plugs and then use a womens hairclip to poke out the plugs. Ill post a photo in the how to thread

If theres a drip of oil hanging off your gearbox its usually always the crankseal. A seal is like £5 from the local motor factors so your just paying labour. Use a good garage and get a receipt because if the seal is a poor fit you have warranty and if they dont TORQUE the rear gearbox mount bolts properly the box will split (another very very common problem) ECC in Ireland make a brace for it because its so common

Thanks away mike Id like the other part as it looks oem if I strip or sell the car. Anyone? Its free money

No I mean the springs. They are different for gt and glanzas. Gt springs on a glanza dpesnt lower it much and glanza springs on a gt raise it -

I want the three point rear brace floor mount from a glanza. Any breakers handy with a grinder

My car made a similar niise when I bought it. It was the crankpulley rubber failing

The best way to find a rattle or knock is take a stick, any stick wood or metal and with your thumb over the end hold it against your ear and place the other end on different parts of the engine/gearbox and youll hear all the different taps and knocks your engine makes. The is how the water service listen for flow and leaks amd its a great technique.

Fte throttlebody modded to take a 4efe tps. It would have been easier to use a fte auto but thus seems more fun. FYI 4AFE is the ideal 50mm for you guys Fitted this baby too
-
You already have the best inlet manifold so why not go get a 50mm throttlebody . 4branch exhaust manifiold next. Saying as you have a knock sensor why not use a thinner headgasket and run super unleaded or advance timing

Bump for a torque converter and drive plate Anyone do a manual conversion recently??

Lad your mums a legend, be sure and tell her lol. Rear seats look great

The gen1 manifold is not a straight swap. A tubular corolla manifold is a straight swap. # remove the airbox lid and big pipe to the throttlebody #Hold the throttlebody open and undo the throttle cable #Unplug 2plugs on the throttle, the thick black pipe on front of manifold, the tiny little pipe on the side of the manifold to the spaceship on the fuel rail (drivers side) #The thick black pipe and tiny pipe on the back of the manifold # Unscrew the earth wire on the back of the manifold. Dont forget to reattach this # Now,,, theres a bracket underneath the manifold that needs unbolted. You ca
