Is getting my turbo made into a hybrid worth it?

Recommended Posts

People have tunnel vision and follow the crowd mate. Yes get it hybridised you will love it. Best move i ever made. Id spend 500 having a ct9 customised for extra 10hp before i would td04.

Think I'm going to, I like responsiveness, even when I put the fmic on it felt that little bit more laggy which was annoying aha!

Who cares who's cars faster?

I sure as shit don't loool

Day to day a hybrid is great.

Easy to live with and great for a b road blast.

ok now most esssential specs are the same as before meaning

tdo4h core and shaft/turbine wheel along with a ct12 turbine case.

the differences in this revised model is a bigger compressor housing replacing the small ct12 snail is one from a tfo35 forrister turbo.

this should aid with increasing overall power but not intefeer too much with the response of the turbo.."

I received my brand new Speedvision Gen 3 CT9 hybrid last week. Going to put it on asap, maybe next week. I'll tell you how it feels then. :) I had a hybrid before but it spitted the oils out, so had to swap back to stock ct9b. The old hybrid might have been a cheap ebay one, not sure as got it second hand.

The k1 use's the ct12 compressor wheel the inlet is almost the size of the stock ct9 it's made almost same power as the ct12 turbo it's self which is crazy but I guess it all comes down to set ups not just turbo/size I havve always wanted to see a ct12 on a 5E or that TD12 sounds wicked nobody tried these tubby's on a 5E? Or even a 4E big booster

I've heard a few good things about a tongs hybrid, but would a midland turbo one be the same? I mean they're a turbo specialist so I doubt they'd make a shit turbo! I hate lag and I don't want it so a hybrid seems perfect for me

just a side thought really after reading the tread...is there really any notable difference between the td12 hybrid and the tf035 (4cm)?..based on what's said of the tf035 and the internals/makings of the td12,...they appear to fall within similar power band

It seems that way. The main benefit in the td12 was ct exhaust housing meaning it bolted up to standard kit.

I ran the tongs (gt spec) which had a 55mm Compresser side and bigger waste gate penny but I swear they did a slightly bigger one using a ct12. Good little turbos but they spool there guts out and generate a lot of heat. If you like instant boost then the only way to tell if you like it is try a hybrid.

I had a speed vision gen 3 hybrid to and there very similar to the tongs gt spec but I would say the tongs is better made as the speed vision shat it's self very quickly.

Each to there own, depends what you want to use the car for really.

Just my opinion.
