Nanglebadger
Here at BadgerSports Inc., we've experienced a few changes over the past number of years, ranging from the relocation of our HQ, to the contents of our fleet. Deep in the bowls of the new BadgerSports Inc. facility, the rumblings and stirrings of more focused EP fettling has been heard emanating from the dedicated space in which Project BadgerSport now resides. This skunkworks of Starlet manipulation has developed its own identity; given itself a name. That name, is GaragEP, a division of BadgerSports Inc, focused solely on breathing heavily on it's Starlet projects. How much further this GaragEP entity will evolve is still the matter of much speculation and ongoing discussion amongst the staff and affiliates of BadgerSports Inc., but what has already emerged courtesy of our friend Starbuck, is some snazzy branding that will displayed as my signature from this point forth. Granted, no one gives a stuff about my ramblings, but its something to amuse myself with over the winter months as the tinkering and tidying of Project BadgerSport continues. I may blog it, spray paint it on the walls of the garage, FB page it, or just use it when referencing the garage at my house, i haven't decided. But its a bit of fun for me to run with and mutter incoherently about. A week and a half til we venture mainland-side, hopefully I'll have an oily update after that (motor, not body). Phil. Nanglebadger
tbh, its just some bollox floating about in my head at the minute that I dont really know what to do with. Took me months to come up with GaragEP as it is lol! Poor Marc just got hassled into helping me out! i did spend a client teleconference yesterday doodling out one-off t-shirts though lol. dunno if i'll do anything with it other than reference it when mentioning the car, but who knows. Chris Green
You definitely need to get some merch made up, would be a shame to waste the logo. TBH that it time well spent, nothing more interesting than a conference call LOL.
Greenmachine81
liking the updates mate, be nice to see this car in the flesh
Nanglebadger
Thanks to the efforts of Mr Bower, and the assistance of a Scooby owning friend of mine, we have now identified the thread size of the Apexi oil temperature sensor. That awkward badboy is M12 x 1.25, same as a Scooby wheel nut. So, i need me one of these and some plumbers tape: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sytec-Alloy-Male-Female-Fuel-Union-Fitting-1-4-NPT-M12x1-25-ASA07-/290919140697?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43bc21cd59 then all we need is a rubber washer (Halfords or similar will suffice) and we are good to fit the oil filter relocation kit and install the oil pressure and temperature sensors. Monster thanks to Rob for his determination to resolve this debacle! Zero thanks to SiCaln for letting me buy this infernal kit off him in the first place, leading to me being baffled for the last two years!!! :p Phil.
Chris Green
Happy days mate, glad you got it figured out.
Aamir
Get some picture uppppp
rob_bower
Something so simple turned out to be a massive ball ache. Such a random thread size.
Chris Green
Is it not huge for what it is? The senders for GlowShift gauges are really small.
rob_bower
It's fairly big, but smaller than 1/4 npt which Is what one of the ports on the filter relocation kit is. Just a really random size for something like those
Nanglebadger
adapter ordered. yeah baby. Phil.

But fair play mate this is some dedication and I hold my hat up to you sir !!! One of the ukso Herod right here !! So much respect
Nanglebadger
thanks for taking the time to read it all dude! really appreciate that! if it provided some entertainment then happy days! its been a labor of love and hatred, mainly poor Jay and my Mrs hating it though lol! Phil.
Nanglebadger
Update Adapter received, and she fits like a dream. Also winning, is the fact that the pressure sensor fits in the sensor port right beside the temperature sensor. Gonna mock up all the sensors and bungs at the weekend and see if everythings accounted for or if we need any 1/8npt blanks. Then I'll be able to run the sensor wiring through the bulk head to the bay, leaving just the power/illumination wiring to arrange. Fitment of relocation kit will likely occur when Project BadgerSports pays her next visit to The Costa, which is Jay's wedding present to me lol; some time tucked up safely in The Costa's finest EP Retreat for some oily investigations. Oh, and a CV boot repair lol, as usual. Big thanks once again to Rob Bower. Wouldnt have figured it out without him, still dont know how he did it if i'm honest. Phil. Chris Green
Seen this on FB earlier dude, looking good. I'm free on the 14th & 15th, so can wire these bad boys up then, if that suit you. Can't do it before as I've some tinkering to do on mine before the meet on 8th.
rob_bower
It had me stumped for a few days. Got there on the end though.
Nanglebadger
@ Rob - i meant to ask, how did u know that the blanks are 1/8npt? Seriously, for the life of me I have no idea how you know that. @ Chris - thats a very kind offer dude thanks! I may take you up on that, we can talk about it closer to the time sure. I'll try and run the sensor wires in the mean time if its not too cold in the garage, but i suspect I'm going to have to pull half the dash apart for this task. Phil. Chris Green
Depends on how meticulous your are when it come to hiding wires mate. Mine run in through the bung in the bulkhead, at the back of the glove box. You just need a good long screw driver and a bit of tape to get the wires through.
Nanglebadger
what i meant by that was that currently alot of them are behind the centre console area, meaning they gotta get trailed out of there towards a suitable bung in the firewall. not sure if the speedo is going to have to come out or not. which is a prick to reconnect the cable on. Phil.
Nanglebadger
Update Ok, mocked up the sensors and bungs for the oil filter relocator kit; i need a 1/8 npt bung and an o-ring to complete the kit. hopefully wont be hard to source either of those. I have also torn the dash apart and labelled up all the temp / vacuum / pressure gauge wiring ready for someone handier than me to do the necessary joining / splicing / soldering blah blah blah. I have also run the oil pressure sensor wiring through the bullk head and into the bay in advance to fitting the oil filter kit. Thought I was missing the connector for the oil temperature kit, just turns out it was way up behind the dash as the wiring is short as f**k. Clearly Apexi expected the gauge to be 30cm from the sensor. so some lengthening of wiring required there. Progress. Phil. Bluebear
Bit of a shame, but you'll have it sorted soon

littlegreenmonster
it gave me hours of amazement not entertainment plus after like 8 hours of me constantly reading and only speaking to the other half about your project (like I know you personally aswell which pissed her off) I then said right I need to get on here and ebay to get turbo + manifold to which she slapped me and went to bed and hated you for a little while (sorry dude) but she doesn't understand cars all she knows is she wants a big turbo and choo choo every time you change gear like I do so she is getting there ;)
