I didnt fancy cutting mine either but it has been done by some people so thought id mention it. I cant remember the exact sizing but i used a VW passat bearing of some description machined the hub out to 72mm iirc and that allowed me to fit a slightly shortened ae92 stub axle. I do now need a washer under the axle nut though but thats not an issue. Yeah i had the short gearbox shaft made. The ae92 shaft i planned to use was about 30mm too long! I did read that ae82's migbt have had shorter shafts but not sure. If you google custom driveshafts a company pops up that does them for £190 i t

Depending on how you mount the engine depends on your options. If youre willing to cut the chassis at the cambelt end you can use stock starlet shafts. If not and you opt to mount the gearbox under the chassis rail you can run a ae92-101-111 driveshaft on the engine side but you will need to modify the hubs to suit a different bearing and corolla stub axle so the CV joint fits. The otherside still needs to be custom though Option 3. Mount the engine how ever and use Custom shafts with starlet outer CV joints. I went with option 2 after snapping a home brew driveshaft

She looks lovely, some great work done by he bodyshop and a nice colour too. Will be keeping an eye on this build

Haha that would be pretty funny 😂 That would look better but the person who did all the tig work turned into a massive bellend so this will have to do for now lol

Number plate on Horns dont seem to work which is annoying but can slag my old one on for MOT so no issue there other than i have 2 useless horns 😑 Had a quick look at all my lights, need a front side light bulb and the rear i think im going to need some bulb paint to make the lower clear lenses show red for tail lights and the OSR to act as a fog light. Might try painting chrome over a bulb to see if if still shows the colour through it as no one like the fried egg look lol

Had a play about with my old piping and sorted out the top hose. Need to get some beads welded on the ends to stop the pipes poppig off then it can all be assembled and bled. Obviously the clamps need fitting but this was just for a mock up. Also fitted my new battery and had a quick wind of the steering to test the PS pump. Needless to say its a vast improvement but it didnt seem to power off so a bit of investigation is needed to see how it should work.

Great work, impressive time considering it was thrown together pretty quickly. Im surprised you dont run a bit of rake towards the front when going down the strip? What times was the KP running? -
My daily is still on drums, its a corolla not a starlet but went from a light aluminium 90hp 1.4 to a heavier cast iron 160hp 1.6 and i dive it faily hard and I've had no problems on drums at all. I've put bigger discs on the front now but the stock discs were 256mm and were originally used on the car that the 1.6 came with aswell so werent really needed but i had them spare so fitted them lol
-
If you're not tracking it leave it on drums, you will struggle to overheat them on the road. If you do a fair bit of track then by all means consider the switch but remember to change the bias valve on the bulk head to a turbo one too otherwise the wont be doing anything anyway. Also be prepared for hassle as they never work or always stick lol

Not heard of this before. Is it possible to get pics of them side by side?

Got the rad mounted eariler, needed to mod my header tank brackets as the lug was moved slightly but nothing i couldnt sort at work. Need to find some piping to fit, will maybe need to cut up the old stuff but shouldnt be too bad. Also chucked the alpha horns in to see how they looked but still need to wire them in. . New battery was bought, went for a standard yuasa battery rather than a dry cell like i had considered just due to the fact im not very likely to look after a drycell and the car will moat likely sit from time to time. Plus i could use a halfords trade card So numberp

Yeah its literally what we said. Take the holders out then the bits thats left poking through the body work just need pinching in a few places and they pop out. Zero screws, clips, or hidden catches really is that easy
-
Exactly that, just some little clips to pinch in once the holders are out and the just pull out

Rory's Light Blue NA fun build. Xmas update

Interested to see what youve got planned -
Im pretty sure the wiring is there So chances are thats it. Should be down the Drivers side tied up over the arch somewhere
-
What do you mean the axle came out? Its popped out the gearbox?

Is the EP91 NA rear axle same as on Glanza?
morgey replied to whitestar's topic in Chassis & Suspension
Should be fine, The disc setup can be fitted to an N/A axle no problem, The only thing you might not have is brackets for the abs wiring but im not sure if thats even a thing. -

Cracking work dude you dont realise how tight things are until it all goes back together! Good luck with the weather for the tuning 👍 -
Thats quite a neat solution but i dont think that would have worked on mine. Your engine seems to sit further over allowing for that nice swept 90, my outlets would almost be ontop of each other if i did the same. We shall see how this works as its all welded up already lol Not sure how these will display as they were sent over whatsapp Will get this fitted and bled over the weekend and see how it all comes out

Yeah everything can be swapped over between them if thats what you mean? Gt axle is 10-20mm narrower and has different bushes i think -
Well rad came out this evening, thermostat was changed whilst i was at it too. My mate is taking it to work with him so he can blank off and move the outlet over so i can have a flat top pipe thats not a pain to bleed. Also these turned up earlier Not what i was going to go for originally as i was going to get a set of ns2r's for £100 but i got impatient and ordered these off a lad on facebook for a good price. Just got to get them fitted and we shall see how the speedlines sit in the arches!
-
Cheers guys. Just contemplating having the radiator modified to move the top pipe over to the NS as i dont like the stupid looping pipework that its currently got as its a pain to bleed. I think im going to do the thermostat so may aswell have that done at the same time. You can just make out it dropping down out and going under the bottom pipe then back out to the head. The outlet is too close to the one on the head to get a decent join in there but if i were to move it over it wouldn't be a problem. Whats other peoples thoughts?

Had to modify the rear spacers slightly to clear the centerbore on the rear discs but theyre all on finally. Shes sitting well and looking soo much better. Before After Also ordered a set of ad08r's for my speedlines so i will be able to get these wheels refurbed pretty soon Not much left to do now to get it MOT worthy Number plate Horns Rear bulbs Refit rear interior Think thats the main things
