Sefton-EP91’s 98 Spec Forged Glanza
morgey replied to Sefton-EP91's topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
Looking good. Wish id found them spacers before getting mine, could have saved a small fortune 😂 If you really want to buff them wheels up you want to look at diamond polishing paste, we use it at work to give a mirror finish on stuff! -
Welcome, looks very clean, youve done an outstanding job on fixing her up
-
Thats what they run from factory so cant go wrong with it, Just use a good brand and you can't go wrong. Castrol Fuchs Mobil Etc etc Id have a look on opie oils see if they have any on offer. If you wanted to go fully synth you could get away with 5w30 but on an n/a theres not much need.
-
Theres about 5 different sets from factory have you a picture of your rear ones so people can match up what they have.
-
Not genuine parts. Mainly from oz they stop the glare and also protect against cracking that can happen with older dashes.
-
they'd fit over 14" steelies as my corolla had 256mm brakes. id imagine you could find a set of 13's that would house them
-
yeah aftermarket tend to be fiberglass or carbon as they take a mold of the headlight/body panel, then you lay over your fiber and resin and remake the shape of the component in your new material of choice. you could make your own with a bit of time and some youtube guides. ;)
-
most molded car parts are made from abs from factory but they'd be formed not machined, you wouldn't get the strength from a machine to shape plastic part.
-
the local wilcos is full of them so called "experts", the amount of times I've been given the wrong parts and I've just stopped there and handed them back telling them its the wrong part and theyve been positive its correct, only for me to take them out to the car to point out what it should look like. cork rocker cover gasket for a mk 2 golf gti when the old one was a rubber was a good one, and being given a plastic housed inline fuel filter for a carb'd car when asking for a fuel filter for my starlet.

I saw this the other day and was laughing at some of the comments being thrown about but refrained from commenting as you know what they say about arguing with idiots!

On your profile it will either say member in dark blue/black if not, or club member in a bright blue if you're a paid member. Currently you aren't, so it must have lapsed

Glad to see you reply, hopefully we can see this sorted Its very common at shows for signal to go down, theres just too much traffic for a rural area in most cases, its happened to me at japfest at CC the last 2 times i went and munched my battery at the same time. Both times i was meant to be collecting or paying for something.

thats my bros thinking, had a CRX VT but stacked it so got a white GL like yours and swapped it all over, had it going for a while, but took it off the road to change gearbox and uprate brakes and now has left it so long everything thing else needed replacing but never got around to it. now he spends most his time removing parts, taking them back to bare metal and coating them in zinc primer. but i swear its been so long the first stuff he did is starting to rust again lol. hopefully youre a bit more active and get yours done much quicker lol
-
just stick drums on it and be done haha.
-
looking good, bet you get this swapped before my bro's is back on the road, only been at it nearly 2 years lol
-
to get it road worthy, fit and wire up my eleccy PS, torque the hub nuts up, get a new cat fitted. MOT tax insurance. but then theres all the other little bits id like to do but im too lazy to do.
-
we did brands hatch to here in 1hr 15 the other day and that was taking it easy but was a sunday night. i could always meet you on route at peterborough or somewhere but 1st things first id need to fix my car lol
-
near thetford, norfolk. so probably 80 miles closer than you lol
-
id almost consider a trip for that price. both doors, wing and rear arch have dents on mine! but my cars off the road
-
I prefered mine with ambers. Theyre only £7 from toyota for them anyway so its not guna break to bank to try. Will be a great example with that exhaust sorted 👍
-
Looks lovely, get that tail pipe welded so it sits horizontal as well. Looks like a good car to hold onto 👍

I've used some waxoyl spray stuff before when i had my car on a ramp. You need a air compressor and a gun for it, i thinned it out a bit with some white spirits so it didnt clump up everywhere. Needed about 2 tins to do the whole car and arches. It is messy like that so need to mask the car up. But took like 5 10 mins to do. I had front arches and inner arches off, shocks and rear beam off aswell when i did mine so it got a good covering. Last year i redid the arches with a brush on waxoyl which allowed me to put it on much thicker but was harder to get in the nooks. As for prepp

I think I've got some lightly tinted uk ones you can have for the price of postage if you want to try them.
-
Usually the kit has instructions that tell you. Im sure the innovate ones state 36" from turbo but id double check
-
The other option is do away with the front driveshafts, solid beam the prob and just go rwd.
