  1. Well if you want it to build boost, which is the whole point, a fuel cut limiter isnt going to work.
  2. It depends how much mechanical sympathy you have too. At the end of the day its more torque that breaks gearboxes not power.
  3. As mentioned you need to run it in and use the correct oil. I fitted my mates, he ran it in properly and used the oil i said, and its silent. They only clunk like a bastard if using the wrong oil, or not run in correctly. The oil you want is Fuchs Titan Race available through opie.
  4. Ah cool, not a lousy spec then. Any headwork atal?
  5. What have you already done tho? Inlet mani/tb is one of the last thing that needs to be changed on a starlet. Have you done everything else thats going to give you better gains first?
  6. From what ive seen/heard the omex ones seem alright, if you want to do it properly tho it should be done through an aftermarket ecu.
  7. Some are, some arent. Depends how they control the spark. Bee*R ones arent great for example.
  8. I agree with AdamB and wouldn't bother going for a PFC. Open loop knock control too...yea great one. Even a standard ecu's knock control is closed loop.
  9. Use plastigauge. Have a google/look on youtube.

Because it starts leaning things out. Only fit it if you have the correct supporting mods to run above fuel cut. If you run 1bar on a standard manifold, youll start melting things.
  11. Lots of things that make a difference to what you need. But if you do get something big injector dynamics is the way to go. Again a emb wont be able to control them, emb's struggle with 550's tbh.
  12. Nice stuff mate. Doubt you'll need 1000cc's spray pattern will be turd and a emb won't be able to handle those for shit!
  13. Like phil said the boost controller won't really do a lot. The actuator won't really. To set it so it doesn't boost a lot, the arm would have to be so far wound out the waste gate would probably already be open making it laggy as hell. Restrict the inlet or exhaust. Thats your only option.

Try and get a photo up of the turbo. but if they are the only mods turn the fuel pressure back to standard at 2.4bar. I also wouldn't fit the fcd yet either.
  15. It would still boost, but your engine wouldn't last all that long. It's a breather line not a vac pipe. Edit - just seen you may be talking about something else...apologies

What other mods do you have?
  17. Hardly anyone used to use them on forged builds either as it was only really thought necessary if going above standard rev limit with big cams. My brothers old forgie had one, god knows who has that engine now tho
  18. First of all take the FCD off lol. Jam Ecu will fuel a tdo4 to around 1bar. Buy an AFR gauge so you can check on things tho. Put the fuel pressure back to standard at 2.4bar as that's what the jams are setup for.
  19. Whether they are standard size shells or not, you can't just drop new ones in there without checking the clearances IMO. I'd put that on being the problem. The other ones that haven't done it.. You've either got lucky or it would be a ticking time bomb
