Not really - I compiled a pretty big "catalogue" about 4-5 years ago of parts, you just need to know what you're looking for

not reaaaaaaaally babe - all I've figured is I need a 23/23 spline driveshaft, the inner shaft 25.10mm in diameter, and the shaft that fits into the outer CV Joint about 24.40mm in diameter. If this driveshaft exists, I'm sorted! Another consideration was to swap the Cynos hub spindle and wheelbearing into the Glanza hubs, as the Cynos wheelbearings don't fit into the Glanza hub Such a hassle!

As said - there was one company in America that used to remap the first gen Paseo ECU's, but seeing as you're in the UK and most likely have a second gen, that company has long shut down, and their prices were ridiculous, it probably wouldn't be feasible. Have a search through the forum, there's several people modifying their N/A 5E's, and there's always the forged induction route too

It depends on what the inner spline count/shaft diameter is though, and I cannot use the Cynos driveshafts, those are going with the gearbox And it wouldn't solve the fact the CV Joints don't fit. All this talk of poop and urine...getting me hot

Hello lovelies, I require your assistance if you would be so kind! Basically, I have a driveshaft/CV joint related dilemma that is making me want to pull at my already thinning beautiful hair. Basically, I have changed from a C52B LSD Cynos gearbox (not a retrofit Starlet GT Gearbox by the way, its the optional Cynos one, as dictated by the fact it runs 4000rpm at 70mph, and is stamped on the Chassis plate) and will be using a C56 from a Glanza. Now, here's where the issues start - I also have a set of "TRD" CV Joints (I was a bit doubtful, but comparing it it's easy to see the differences) - they are 23 splines, and test fitting them into some Glanza hubs, they seemed to fit fine. However, I also have some Glanza driveshafts set aside, which DON'T fit fine, infact, they're 30 spline. Also, seeing as the Cynos wheelbearings don't work with the Glanza hubs, I test-fitted the CV Joints into the Cynos hubs to see if I could use those instead. Nada, the CV Joints' shaft is actually a smaller diameter?! So, to conclude - what the hell driveshaft do I have to use?! I haven't counted the splines in the C56, or test fitted the driveshafts, but I have a feeling that annoyingly these driveshafts will fit and be gay and mean I can't use my TRD CV Joints. So, what do I do?! Your help will be much appreciated and rewarded with copious kisses, hugs, and maybe more. Depending on if you can provide me with the required driveshafts too

And why not? One of the old Starlet pioneers from Australia installed a TD04 on a bone-stock 4E-FE once to the tune of more than 200bhp and reasonable amounts of boost, and I won't even start talking of the plethora of stock internal 5E-FHE's and the power they have made reliably throughout the years. It all depends basically on the path you wish to follow - stock internals can be done, but huge priority is placed on the tune and engine management. Forged components can give the extra buffer from a less than perfect map and will surely take boost; again, high c/r components can be used, all it means is that when using higher boost levels the detonation threshold is reduced.

Try searching for an Apprenticeship in the field you're searching for - gives you more real world and practical application of education, rather than sifting through books and theoretical work

To add; I cannot really speak on personal experience or practical evaluation but I have heard/read enough to make some quasi-educated judgements! Basically; - Pistons - - JE are one of the top manufacturers for pistons in America, great quality items - CPP another high-end manufacturer, recently joined forces with Carrillo, and their conglomeration even supplies to F1, amongst other high prestige motorsports - Wossner, not heard much, but they are relatively new company seemingly - Ross are very cheap, but I've heard a lot of accounts of their piston rings being far too hard and greatly accelerate bore-wear - Connecting Rods - - Carrillo are one of the top manufacturers of rods, but also priced as such, don't need notching - SCAT, very cheap and economical, need notching - Pauter are another popular company - PEC have had some quality issues in the past For your setup, were you going for a 5E base? You have to make consideration of what you're looking for out of your setup as well - do want a responsive and tractable setup, or something that can take a lot of boost? The importance is to decide precisely what you want out of your setup, before selecting parts.
