  1. My Dad has got a MX5 with a Garrett turbo, ahem, still only 220 bhp, about as quick as a Civic Type R to be honest. Obviously more fun. Nah not slow, but for the money, you can get a lot faster cars. Personal favourite would be Mazda RX7
  2. The kid had an N/A previously and I wouldn't call him a boy racer by any stretch of the imagination. I didn't even know he was into cars till years later. But I guess I would never know.
  3. 2.0 N/A may have been 170 bhp out the factory, but certainly at now and certainly isn't at the wheel. I got a mate with the turbo variant, which is quick car, had it about a week until he crashed it into the A40 central reseveration, not going fast, just water planed. Fair play to him, restored it and you'd never know. Not sure if I'd get one of those lol though. An S2K on the other hand. But not in stock trim, too slow.
  4. Ahh okay. I kinda got the impression you wanted something to have a bit of a laugh in on a road trip and not keep forever.
  5. Lol. Okay. As said, SiR's are cool also though. Like they didn't do an EG Type R it was merely the SiR with the B16 Lump in it.
  6. You thinking Type R Ollie? You can get early variants of the DC2 before Type R was even a thing. Just like they did with the Civic, the DC2 also comes in an SiR variant also. Boasting the B18B engine, albeit perhaps slightly less power. The chassis isn't reinforced as much either, but it's a very similar car, oh and the price can be half of what you'd pay for a Type R. Which means you can spend more money on getting a decent one that's going to give you hassle free motoring.
  7. Is the Micra Rod adjustable? Be interesting to see how close they come. That said pretty sure Pan Hard rods aren't that much more. https://www.rhdjapan.com/cusco-adjustable-lateral-rod-ep82-ep91-exz10.html £82 for a Cusco one, make it around £110 to the door. But guaranteed fitment. That's what I'm running.
  8. Pretty sure the import DC2's have ridiculously thin front wind shields, no sound deadening etc etc. So expect it to not be the best. A common as much, reliable okayish car, I agree a K20. Dirty on expenses though. My bang for buck would be an EP2 with a D16z SOHC Turbo conversion. Cheap tax insurance etc and can easily get 240 brake out of them. See loads of D16 Turbos for sale as well.
  9. Hello Kev! I'm from Cheltenham as well. Probably see you razing about no doubt.
  10. What a BEAUTIFUL CAR! GLWS bud. People can see this is a genuine car, and personally, from a collectors perspective, better it left unregistered and let someone else be the owner! If you're looking to buy one, then this looks ideal. Very nice!
  11. I would just sorn it. You can retax it at a moments notice anyway.
  12. Looking lovely. Have you got anywhere to store it? It's killer getting rid of it, I presume it's all paid for and doesn't owe you anything. If you need the money then it's time to sell, but it sounds like you just don't need the extra overhead at the moment. That said, kids get more expensive not cheaper. Store it away until the summer, you may find you have time for it next year.
  13. 43GB FOR A BETA WTF! That's a massive beta fair play lol
  14. Aww shit, I gotta get myself to Japan! That looks awesome!
  15. Yeah I am a massive GT fan so a wheel is just essential. The point I was trying to make, GT doesn't really come into its element until you have that wheel. Every car felt different. This is why sound doesn't matter, because they spent their time and effort making the game sensational in other areas. As said, the game felt underwhelming, when on a controller. But it really comes into its own on the wheel. The problem with the wheel is, it's such a faff getting it up and out that you end up just either leaving it out all the time, or always in its box. Either way, unless you have the space, it isn't brilliant.
  16. So if you haven't played GT on a wheel, then I would say you are in for a surprise. When GT5 came out, I was initially somewhat disappointed. It wasn't until a year or so later when a friend lent me his steering wheel Wow the whole game comes alive with a wheel, I find it impossible to play racing games these days without a wheel. Like I was gob smacked how realistic GT is on a wheel. Picture this: Amuse Honda S2000, flat out down the start line on Grand Valley Speedway, you're in seventh gear and you're left foot braking into the hairpin, I was using a G27 at the time, and I short shift from 7th to 3rd, but didn't RPM match, the engine couldn't handle the compression, locks up the rear wheels and spins you off the track! Literally AMAZING! I brings such a fantastic element to the game. Also, in GT, you have to feather the clutch off the line else you stall the engine lol. Properly immersive experience.
  17. I bought a PS4 just for this game. But after a solid 2 years and nothing I gave up. I have loved all of the GT's because of their attention to detail, best experienced on a Pedal and Wheel setup, the GT series never disappoints. Can't say sound has ever been an issue for myself. Sold my PS4 now though, but I wouldn't expect anything less than exceptional from this game. For me, it was the campaign modes that made the series, not hardcore enough to really enjoy Project Cars.
  18. I massively regret not getting a MK1 TBF. Nice mate.
  19. What a piece of art work!
  20. Yeah I know, but that's where he got it from. Maybe contact them and see if they can help directly, web site seems a bit naff...

  22. That is a sweet coolant overflow bottle. I was thinking that myself. I've ripped out the original one, and have got a small bottle placed in the bay, never occurred to me have on situated on the radiator like that...melikey!
  23. Maths is easy, it's arithmetic that's difficult. Things make more sense when expressed algerbraically. It's easier to understand why something is when you abstract its behaviour. It's harder to see this when you're bogged down in the numbers. The reason it's not 1.5 bigger is because you are multiply both sides by 1.5. If you want to know what the sides would be when it is 1.5 times bigger, you must work backwards.
  24. But you're not increasing the size of the triangle by a factor of 1.5, you're increase the size of each side by a factor of 1.5. Therefore your coefficients are compounded. The area of a right angled triangle need not be calculated via Pythagoras theorem. You Simply need 1/2 *x * y, where x is the length of the base and y is the length of the height. Therefore if your example Your equation expands to (1.5 *(1/2*x)) * (1.5*y) Therefore you are increasing the size of the triangle by 1.5 * 1.5 = 2.25 Plug that back into your original equation 6 * 2.25 = 13.5 which is what you'd expect I think maybe you're mixing up your theorems a bit here. No Pythagoras was needed to calculate the area.
  25. Yes mate. Always wanted a set of those Advans. Looking lovely.
