Remove Rocker Cover Baffles For Cleaning
Calum122 replied to Calum122's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
I didn't mean weld the baffle to the rocker cover. I mean fill up the rivet sections with weld, allowing it to spill over the baffle. Effectively turning it into a rivet. -

Don't drive the car enough to warrant having it removed to be fair. -

Yeah I see that. So it should work the same if I just tig it back in. -

Lol, I thought it was rivetted in. Race Tech offer a baffle cleaning service, I figured I would save myself the money and race spec it, clean it and fit coil packs myself. Save time. I might take Ollie's idea. Or you reckon it could be plug welded back up with a Tig? -

Cool cheers bud. -
Hello, I want to clean up this rocker cover, but before I potentially ruin it, I am right in thinking the baffles are riveted in and I just need to drill out the highlighted rivets. EDIT: Looking at this photo, I'm guessing the two middle ones holding the separate baffle plate needs drilling too.

Brakes sold and send out today, sorry bud.

You are either going to have to pay the £2 to be a member and upload photos, or use another photo hosting site as Photobucket has officially, kicked the bucket.

Yes but what discs.
-
Russ would be the man to ask about the discs. The pads are EBC's, in my email we agreed black stuff.

Sounds like ignition if it's getting fuel. Is it sparking okay?

Tapping isn't going to be the timing belt? Why would this tap. If it was slack it would fall off. Could be a noisy engine, it's a lot of miles. You'd have to get a video up of it so we could hear it. Valvetrain possibly.

So yes mate, I don't have a spare either (weight) but it still goes in the spare wheel well. So you use the existing threaded section to secure it.
-
Yeah well, My understanding is this. Yes they will fit, but the bushes are different sizes.

No? I think he means P8 P9 I.E. EP80 81 82 fall under P8 and EP91 95 under P9. I.e. WIshbones from across the board are interchangeable.

Hello and welcome. Amazing that you can find them with such low miles. It's a great car to use as a run around.
-
Yeah mate. I got this Then made a false floor and mounted a couple of speakers in boxes to it. yeah it's weight, but it's weight over the rear lol. That isn't my car, but it's two punchy little subs that sit in the spare wheel well.

Depends what you put in it I guess.

Cheers bud all arrived nicely. Packages well! 5*'s thanks again!
