Chops surplus starlet supplies! (FREE! hks, gfb, etc)
Calum122 replied to Chops's topic in Starlet Parts For Sale
Are the glass the same from a N/A? It's probably just the glass I'm interested, I hope your GT boot goes as I don't want it to get scrapped. But if Any EP window fits, then I would just go to my brakers, as it's a two hour drive for me. I just don't want to see it get scrapped. -

Chops if worst case scenario you have to scrap the boot, PM me before hand and I will probably come down to save it. Mines started to rot and the glass is all scratch due to someone using a rear wiper with no blade on it. So at worst it can save another EP. -
Silly answer, you sure the bulb hasn't blown. Or at least, the high beam part.
-
Pretty sure they can still be had new https://monstermotorsport.com/catalog/product_info.php/carbon-bonnets-p-791

Love it. That scenary as well though. I love the American numberplates. They really make the cars stand out over there.
-
Took me ages to find mine. It isn't a straight swap neither, you will need to fabricate some components to get it to fit.

The thread can actually be removed from the piston. You could remove it to ensure you haven't damaged the thread. I utterly destroyed the piston on mine, and the thread got knackered too. Luckily, my Dad managed to file the thread back inline for us (As this was not supplied with the piston). Remember, a downwards force is applied to the screwing motion to help it locate. Just be wary not to damage the thread. There is a tool you're supposed to use for this.
-
Nice mate. Exactly what I need to find myself!
-
Yeah probably, however you will need a caliper rewind tool to actually fix the piston in place.
-
Perfect for an amatuer mechanic. I can't imagine the stuff holding up for day in day out use. The tolerances aren't the best either. But I tend to use these over the Snap On stuff cause I don't want to damage the decent stuff. Worked well. But I'm just an amatuer mechanic.

Lovely that :D

Yeah interestingly, I can't say I found it really that difficult. Probably different when you're doing under clock, but I done it at home and just took my time.
-
That's a brave colour my friend. A bit too out there for my taste, I really liked the Glanza in White.
-
You don't need to rotate the rear caliper at all to remove it. The thread is to allow it to self adjust. So merely actuate the lever a few times and hey presto it's out.
-
@Sudden Yeah man I hear you. Keep up the good work :)

I wouldn't buy into the Black Friday stuff, the Halfrauds stuff is always on sale. I've got both Snap On and this Halfrauds kit, and whilst the quality of the Snap On is Lightyears ahead, I have been very pleased with my Halfords stuff.

Sad times. Fair play though the write up on that is impressive, and brutally honest. Legit seller, I wish there were more cars like this. GLWS bud.
-
No, but there really isn't much to the caliper, the seals, the piston and the caliper. Just reassemble it the way you disassembled it.
-
Ha, fair enough. You keeping the Charade.
-
Haha, is there any updates to this then? You getting a Integra?
-
Yeah you're probably right as 300 bhp is going to be pretty peaky and not necessarily what you want. But the point I was trying to make was that the car could be tailored so much better with a turbo with the money you spend on an N/A. But I get that it's for a particular class they're racing in and I applaud the engineering.
-
yeah sorry mate I missed this thread. THat's the power of a GT now then. But the problem I have, is the cost. For that same money I bet you could have had a 300bhp starlet. Now don't get me wrong, you have a purpose for it. But for anyone looking to have a road going car, or track car without limitations, I don't see the sense.

Used to be a trader on here. I bought loads of stuff off him. He did make up softer bushes to fit. But I never used em. Can't say I find the powerflex ones that bad tbf. @5e colin I know used Jeromy's softer bushes. But I was unable to find them on eBay when I looked.
-
My issue is that with used ones you don't know what you're getting. Could be on their way out. At least there are options. I know on the Hondas you can get Poly inserts. Not as harsh as full blown poly.

Good luck, M9 thread which is like an automotive standard. Spent ages looking. Best bet is to go back to Toyota
