  1. Well they're two 660cc engines, so why would they be 2.7 Litres. Anyway thanks for clarifying. He currently has an Evo 5 It's nice, but I think I prefer yours Looking very swish!
  2. Very nice mate I love those RX7's, will get one one day, just out of interest, what did it say on the log book about its displacement. My mate said to me that due to their power figures they're down as a 2.7 despite being a 1.3
  3. Good lad. You clearly know your stuff having sorted this out so quick. Aye if you want me to test that sql theory of yours I can. Qualified penetration tester ain't I mush???? Jokes. Nah I'm sure it's secure.
  4. My only slight concern and why I wouldn't participate, is entering in the VIN. I'd do everything except the VIN. Happy to submit the last 5 digits etc. How can I be sure that your server what be compromised by a simple buffer overflow or sql injection etc... Maybe I'm just paranoid. But I love this idea, but don't want to submit a full VIN. My dad has been in the position of having his VIN plate used on one of his cars before and he had to contest against it.
  5. That's a nice conversion there. That engine looks lovely in that bay. I'd say that would be worth the money. I've seen rotten minis sell for 4K. So 10K for a mint example, that actually uses a decent, Jap, engine. Worth it al day lol
  6. This was discussed previously, it's all relative. It's expensive when I paid £1600 for a GT Turbo, but when you pay £30K plus for your R34 GTR....it's not that much indeed
  7. Amazing how these cars move all round the country lol
  8. Yeah mate, the best ones are ALWAYS further afield. The difference in price/condition you can get from a little bit of travelling is amazing. I travely to High Wycombe to get mine, utter garbage! Me and my brother went to Ireland for his, SWEET MOTOR! It's well worth buying that right motor than ending up with one like mine Mine is running now and it is a lovely car to drive. Very classic
  9. Just read through your posts on TGTT. Damn that was one fine EP when you first bought it. Sorry but I wasn't really a fan of any of the modifications you done to it. Butchered the front bumper, GASH MR2 Alloys that had been rattle canned and the colour of the rocker cover. To be fair though it was probably alright when you had done it but by the time I got it it was peeling flaking and just generally nasty. I was surprised, when working on the engine, that it had been forged. I don't mean to be rude, but reading through your thread I got the impression that money was a little tight, where you kept asking 'cheap as poss please', so I'd be interested in finding out what components you used to forge the engine? If it's cheap components then I guess I'd be better to rebuild it myself. I read that the crank had spun a bearing in the end. What did you do, new crank, or go ahead for a regrind? Also what coilovers you go for in the end? Was interesting to read about the cars history, sounded like when you got rid of it it was a bit worse for ware. Well regardless I'm going to restore it to full health anyway.
  10. Yeah, had it 8 months and done 100 miles in it....it is a never ending story of problems with this motor. Be interesting to see what the cars history is or if he has a build thread for it. Unfortunately this was a High Wycombe Special
  11. As said she's being looked after and will be for a fair few years to come
  12. Really bad mate. Really bad. Shame I didn't see this thread. This was the state I bought it in. Head gasket had failed. The body has seen better days. The roof has peeled badly. Few things wrong with it still but it's gone to a loving home mate. Photo Taken Thursday
  13. ECU's were always frying on these lmao. The amount I've seen on eGay with blown ECU's This was the car I wanted before the Starlet, glad I saw sense in the end. This was my brothers one: Years and years ago now
  14. I'd be more inclined to say HG as that was my experience. Is the fan kicking in and out? It shouldn't overheat if the fans working properly. The civic rad you can get for these cars seem to be very good.
  15. What was the matter with the Kaaz one?
  16. Oh I don't know, different kind of fun. I suppose you are more on your own a bit. I was driving around Chelt town the other night and a Jaguar XJ summit summit must of heard the chatter from the turbo on my car, and flawed it off the line, I was like yeah, it's a boggo 1.3 mate, on your own like. No point 'racing' after a car with 3X's the power lol.
  17. Definitely mate, I love the underdog feeling of those cars. Fair play to you for buying one lmao!
  18. The way I see it is it's a conservation of energy. In any closed system energy is conserved, so lightening the flywheel gives you faster acceleration of the engine, but the overall energy of the system has not changed. All I can see logically is that, if the engine picks up faster, then you will hit boost faster, which means you will make power sooner.
  19. Haha! Yes Ollie that's brilliant mate! Will this be making an appearance Sunday? Let me know who you decide to go with for powdercoating. Looking sick though
  20. I looked into lightening flywheels a while back, and the professionals I spoke to was DON'T do it. Makes sense why you wouldn't want to do it on your every day car. Fair enough for your track slag where you don't care about a rebuild, but for something you want to keep reliable, there is a reason why it's weighted....
  21. Yes mate, nice site. What are you using to host it? I've been hosting my website on my Raspberry Pi It looks good, I wonder if you could use a sub domain of ukstarletowners since that's free. My domain, www.dt125r.co.uk, allows me to put allocate www with something else for free. So the site I will be hosting on my pi is currently beta.dt125r.co.uk Maybe it would be possible to have carreg.ukstarletowners.com.Or whatever. EP-Reg is good too, just saves you paying for a domain.
  22. I swear that Red car in Mighty car mods video to New Zealand had Evo bodykit
  23. Feels good to finally have a Starlet that actually runs, alright it leaks a bit of coolant but at least it works :D

  24. Brilliant. Tsukuba is great track, well jealous Out of interest how close is the playstation to real life, in terms of the track. Did you find it helped playing the playstation before hand ? Very sweet Mk1 you got there. Amazing that you beat those other cars, there are some heavy contenders there!
