  1. The ICMP is sent from your router. All data is sent from the router and back again. Regardless of transmission medium, the 'Speed Test' is simply a measure of the line, not the method once it's inside your network. Depending on whether or not the network is busy or not, will give you a wide variety of readings. 20mb is someones internet connection, so to have that as a loss on a bad day...wow that's impressive! That's ridiculous speeds to be fair!
  2. Jesus that's cheap. Anyone from England looking to pick this up then I will tell you first hand. Ireland and back isn't a big job. Done it last year. The locals are lovely, the scenary is nice and the flight is short. The drive from Scotland was a trek but it's worth it for a minter and at this price!
  3. Turbo Manual?? I bet that's a laugh lol
  4. Aye, nah I bought this one. But for a product from D1 Spec, I don't know what peoples thoughts are on this matter, it's a fairly decent product. As I say though, I'm sure it doesn't hold a candle to the more JDM knobs
  5. Yeah there was a few of us. Me and my bro and two mates in Type R's. Ahh good man, they're sick motors!
  6. Not Jap I'm afraid But it's a really nice weighted Carbon Fibre D1 Spec. I'm sure nothing special, but it feels really nice. Definitely recommend it. It just has a really nice weight to it.
  7. Only seen you about once in that bad boy. Two weeks ago, we were heading up Morrisons as you left on Eastern Avenue. Hope it's still going well!
  8. Southern or NI? We picked up a Starlet from NI. Their NCT was accepted in the UK as MOT and there was no importing necessary. Southern probably different. Ensure you're insured to drive it back. I believe you're okay for x amount of days before it needs to be registered in the UK.
  9. Aye I was going to concur on the heat.

    oil

I always use Silkolene for all my engines, all my engines are pushed fairly hard and none have ever given up the ghost. From my experience I'd always recommend the decent Silkolene stuff! But I'm a preventative maintenance man. I always rebuild the engine way before it would normally go...cheaper that way. But Mobil is good. Castrol are good. Depends how you drive really. If you wring its neck off then I suppose no oil is going to save it from the enivitable. But a half decent oil will do a better job.
  11. Yes that looks mint. I'm really tempted by the duck tail spoiler myself!
  12. That's insane lmao. That's big players there too! For a little 1.3 against a car with the worlds greatest FF chasis outstanding
  13. It's all relevant anyway since we're discussing setups. I was just saying a decent TD04 is by no means laggy. I actually prefer to drive TD04 since you can drive the car like a naturally aspirated engine off boost. I'd imagine if you're boosting/tuning a 85/95 then you will want semi-decent power with easy potential to go further. Just my two pence.
  14. Rattle canned lol. Half of my car is the same Even my mates 6K evo has had the odd spray with a rattle can. Sad, but funny at the same time.
  15. I can't say I'm surprised why they get broken to be fair. I shouldn't have bought my Starlet it's a dog. And it will cost me so much money to get to a good state again. Well has cost me so much money to get it running. Now I own one, I don't mind bringing this one back to full health. But had I known what you can get for the money, I wouldn't have bothered....Sad to say it. But for the money you can get a lot better examples.
  16. ?? His is a Billet Aluminium Hybrid turbo. And my CT9 is touch a bar. Very strange because it seems to scream to the red line holding boost very well. It almost feels like it has V-Tec the way the boost comes in mid-range, then come 4 grand the wheels spin again as a bar is made. I'm not interested in fixing it. I only drive it on the weekends. My plan is to buy a WEPR GT20 fast spool up kit and the works. So a smokey CT9 isn't high on my priorities at the moment. Those exhaust threads are. Again this might be a head off job and I might wait until I do the turbo kit. What
  17. Aye, my car is a High Wycombe Special! LMFAO! But it turned out to have forged internals so who's laughing now! Well still them but hey I don't complain too much
  18. To be quite honest, whilst my CT9 is smoking and the exhaust manifold is blowing, my CT9 makes full boost at the same time my brothers WEPR TD04 at 4 grand. Sure mine spools up faster to give more power down the lower rev range, but really peak boost is just as laggy.
  19. Not being funny, they are in the middle of nowhere, no one to hurt but themselves, even if they were 'racing' they wouldn't be harming many other people...i imagine anyway. They look like good lads and it is sad. That could be any of us just enjoying our motors on a leisurely cruise. That wreckage as well is insane. RIP
  20. My car is forged, stock ECU, and is reading 12-14 psi and isn't hitting boost cut. It's a really nice gauge as well.
  21. Mine is modified for my carpc so sorry.
  22. Boost gauges are great cause it will warn you when something wrong is going on...kinda like now. Cheap boost gauges can work just as an idea.
  23. I'll second Whitenoize. No idea why you sold those parts because they look really good. Still pleased with them thanks mate
  24. By looks of how it's fitted I'd say not. You'd think it would be properly secured down with nuts and bolts. But I don't know.
  25. Might be worth just disconnecting the battery, letting any charge drain down (so turn the lights on with the battery disconnected). Leave it a few minutes. Then reconnect. And drive it softly for a few miles through the rev range. And seeing if you can replicate the symptons. Sounds like fuel cut. It's quite savage when it kicks in. Let alone alarming. Have you got a boost gauge plumbed in? Is the boost going off the charts. Just keep an eye on out on stuff. Also tell your partner to stop ramping your car lol!
