  1. Marc it's looking exceptional! Loving the attention to detail here, something I wish I had a little more of!
  2. I got one of those JPerformance ones for like £50. Seems good enough. Great price if anything.
  3. Nah I must have damaged it. This is ridiculously tight to fit in.
  4. Lightly tap the piston in, literally does not want to go in. Nah it is lubed. Okay you've given me some tips.
  5. Fair play mate! Cleans up well. I love that colour. Looks grand. It's nice to see it running to tell you the truth. I wish I could do the same to mine.
  6. I thought that at first, but I mean if the games good then it's a good game, regardless of the graphics. I still play a lot of PS1 games and PS2 games today. And seeing this has just made me purchase GT1, GT2 and GT3 again off ebay. They're great games that I actually want to relive so hey, it's only a couple of quid lol.
  7. Looks lovely! Love the colour!
  8. Ooh what a gift! I wish I never threw my PS2 away lmao. And that game was just insane. GT4 was definitely better the 3 was just insane! GLWS I am sure there must be someone else like me wanting another one.
  9. Took a while for me. Communication was the longest part. And parts discontinued. But that said they were brilliant. Once they said they had shipped the item it was literally a couple of days. But due to me being a Noob at using them there was some stuff I had missed.
  10. Cheers, Yes I can invision that thanks. That's almost to say my caliper rewind kit isn't much use since that very much PUSHES. I am slightly concerned I may have damaged the caliper, and I don't want to find out once it's on the car...if that makes sense. I know what you're saying about the handbrake though. That makes sense so I will give that a go when I'm next in the garage. Thank you.
  11. Hi there, Wondering if anyone has any advice on how to proceed. I've been refurbing the rear end of car, which has included a lovely respray of the rear arm, poly bushes and a nice Cusco adjustable Pan hard Love the job they done on the rear arm. But have come to reassembling the rear calipers and am having massive difficulty inserting the pistons back into the caliper. Not only are they ridiculously hard to get back in, they don't seem to be latching onto the screw and thus the caliper rewind kit isn't helping, well I broke it and it was brand new so I am annoyed. It's got to the point where I think I may have to take it to a garage to do the final stepping stone. So to sum up, Piston seems unreasonbly hard to actually get into the caliper Once a piston was in it was latching onto the thread Piston is now refusing to come out, may need to get it blown out with an air compressor. Any advice greatly appreciated.
  12. Received Socks. Thanks I can appreciate this has been a big order. Love the bargain much appreciated
  13. Aww mate I'm gutted for you! I was absolutely loving this build thread just started reading it tonight. Really loved what you did with it. The videos were bloody grand. Then to hear about the accident. Makes my blood boil! Unbelievable. But as they say chin up and I look forward to your next build. Also I only read parts of it, but fast spool, ball bearing turbos? Turbos don't spool up faster because they have a ball bearing in them. It will be other factors that affect the spool. Nissan did research into that and found that Ball bearing turbos took 22% longer to spool, the key is that they can withstand greater RPMS, of upto 160'000 RPM. You really think you'll need to spool a turbo up to that many rpms lol! As said didn't really read the whole thing. Just thought that was interesting.
  14. Absolutely mint mate. Megs jeal
  15. Yeah that's wicked! I mean never been, but boss that track on Gran Turismo, then watching it for real, jeez I understand why it takes ballz to blat around that track. It's absolutely flat out! Nice video!

That's brilliant. Thanks for sharing lol
  17. Glanza looks wicked!
  18. That's sick mate! My friend wants an EG. He has a D16 Turbo engine that came from his rotted coupe and was looking for a donor chasis lol. Looks great.

    Not starting

Due to the Starlet not being a true twin cam engine, the inlet cam is spring loaded. You must put in the service bolt before dismantling the cam lobes, else they will become unsprung. Although it will still run with it unsprung, just rather noisy. I would double check the timing on the cams mate, so many times people ask this question and 9/10 you will be just 1 tooth out!
  20. As you say Socks, I doubt it's the drop in temperature causing the combustion to be weak. Cause the opposite is true. More likely something has worn out, possibly due to the cold temperature. I'm sure you have the old bits to start swapping in and out. Also, it could be something simple like bad fuel. Take the plugs out and have a look at the colour, that ought to give you an indication of how it is running, or at least a starting point for us to help diagnose it. I don't want to teach you to suck eggs, but as always we're starting simple to work our way up.
  21. Engine mounts never bothered me. Better than the knocking from disintegrated stock ones lol/
  22. Dunno, doesn't look that bad to me. A new rad doesn't cost much these days. I just bought a cheap JPerformance rad for £50 for my Starlet. Half sized Civic Rad. A new bonnet won't be much. A bumper and a few other bits and bobs. Bit of elbow greese and that'll be right as rain.
  23. I expect you'd want to mesh it slight to stop leaves and stuff going in there. Bonnet exit is hilarious, but as people say, perhaps not the most ideal.
  24. Idle control valve could be shot. Could try taking it apart and cleaning it. Or for a test you can just remove it. It will run rough for a minute or so and you will have to manually open the throttle and adjust fuel. But once a minute has passed it should idle perfectly. If it doesn't then you know it is not that.
  25. Wouldn't have thought so mate. Unless it doesn't open. The thermostat opens to cool the engine. A low temp one opens earlier and thus takes longer for an engine to warm up. This would potentially mean high idling, but not the fan. If the ac has been removed, but the connection not bridged then this will cause the fan to come on.
