    2020 motor sport

I suppose it's down to how you follow motor sport, I'm havily involved and follow alot of the individual companies as well as alot of drivers. I'm loving this season especially with the new tracks and lack of driver experience. This latest race so far has been crazy. Ferrari are back. Renault coming good as well as McLaren. Next season is set to be one the best with Merc having a second team.
  2. yeh agreed, as soon as im finished and im happy with the tune ill start to strip down and refurbish, zinc plating is really quite cheap and lasts around 3 years. loving the work. these cars are at the age where there really starting to need this doing.
  3. what was removed to fit the filter. has the idle rpm increased?. the idle control valves on the uk ep91 seize up there easy to free off, there was a topic on here recently were I stripped 1 down, located under the throttle body.

Waw what a qualifying. Lewis were did that lap come from. Surprisingly bottases Q2 lap was the fastest. https://youtu.be/NfuZlK2qWRY
  5. Thanks for the channels I'll give them a watch after the F1 qualifying. Ferrari bringing yet another different neck and floor to there car and for the first time this season there looking fast. Max doesn't like the changes to the red bull front wing.
  6. im loving these at present and really thinking of getting 1. directives at work all point in this direction 50+mpg.
  7. I tried to watch more but they seem to focus on each other. Yeh its a very comical watch, rather then practical. If it fits your taste. The sr20 engine is a fantastic engine very hard to beat especially in a lightweight frame. Other 2ltr engines to watch out for are the 3sge, abf, 4g63, k20, h22 all these engines have good hp but very good torque output taking the higher speed bands better faster. The only draw back is there fuel efficiency= 22 to 28mpg.
  8. welcome. there are quite a few owners in the northwest especially greater Manchester and Preston area. as said really nice color and she does look very clean, nice choice on the wheels.

Set to be a great gp.
  10. Very surprised with the k04. Great tunning. The waste gate/exhaust side is better positioned and a good option for the starlet.
  11. Nice work, very respectable figures. I'm liking the smooth power build and torque figures from a 1.3ltr engine. I must admit I was expecting more from the k04.
  12. As a suggestion ask Brad his MK1 GT on here is running some very interesting black hoses. They look very good.
  13. Engine part's required for turbo conversation: 4efte exhaust manifold, oil filter relocation housing 4efte, sump later ep91 4efte the best option low corner surge, turbo with all turbo lines (coolant and oil), 4efte ep91 or ep82 exhaust system and down pipe (decat pipe). 4efte thermostat housing, 4efte flywheel and 212mm clutch or 200mm uprated 4efe unit, 4efte power steering pump with bottom pump to block mounting bracket and bolts, both low pressure pipe from the power steering reservoir and high pressure pipe from the pump to the steering rack 4efte, 4efte rocker cover, heat range 6 spark plugs 4efte. 4efte gray injectors 295cc will see around 220hp, piggy back ems. Intercooler and piping (4efte top mounted intercooler requires the factory bonnet scoop). The main thing is to take your time with the build and get it right. There are other ways of going the fueling ems. You can install the glanza wiring looms, and ems. I've also seen people use just a hks fuel cut defender, bigger injectors pink 4afe, and a fuel pressure regulator to get fueling right. But ultimately it's upto you.
  14. Giving me ideas reduced weight looks great. Top work.
  15. This car just evolved in front of my eyes. I was looking up some of the factory options and Waw just Waw. How rare are arm rests??.
  16. Keep it up. Take your time and look after yourself.
  17. Fantastic series, marking all the greats in the sport threw history, with Jack brabem and John sertise being my personal heros. It's truly astonishing the abilities of modern day drivers like Lewis, Nico rosberg, sebb & max. There talent dwarf's alot that came before, even thew the attitudes are the same. It's areal shame Bruce McLaren and Fagio weren't covered more. https://youtu.be/OuX7tdDcsy8 Also this season I can sit down and enjoy again and again.
  18. Dish washer for the win haha. A man after my own hart. Loving this, really quality work very tidy. My Hats off to you.
  19. Of course. I remember now lol. Keep up the good work and she will run for a very long time. I'm keeping an eye on this. Here to help if you need anything.
  20. Look under my user name < << <<< <<<< <<<<<<< Around here. They are a very reliable, easy to work on, nippy little car. It's great to share these cars with people of all walks of life that enjoy them for the special little Toyota's they are. I'll look for your build thread now <<<<<<<<< Mine might be found on the topic\username margin around here.
  21. Morning, you will find failed piston and rods all threw this site as well as failed bigends. It was after I opened 2x 4efte early ep82,and 1x gen1 4efe engine ep80(all low milage) that the bore glaze can be seen its turned dark purple (stored/aged bore) All they need is a light cylinder hone and a run in and there good to go. The number 1 cylinder runs the hottest leading to piston seizure in the bore on factory cast alloy pistoned engines, resulting in catastrophic engine failure on a bad tune/setup. What is know as death ash is present on the underside on the piston crown a tell tail sign of crown overheating. This along side piston ring end polishing/wear means the rings closed completely for a good period/periods of time. Using the standard cast exhaust manifold there are restrictions in all the manifold ports mainly cylinder3 this along side the fact this cylinder gets the best feed from the inlet manifold seems to take out number 3 bigend over/around 170hpish. Things like hitting fuel cut, revlimiters, launch control, "Poping and banging" basically seems to kill/crack ring lands on the inlet side of the piston. Due to the combustion chamber design. So drive her right and she's good. Head gaskets seem to be another thing only after the original engine has been opened & head gasket replaced with a aftermarket unit, unopened factory engines seem to be free from head gasket problems. This I'm trying to get to the bottom of but I think I've got the issue pinpointed. Another common issue is oil serge/starvation in long fast corners due to oil movement in the sump the first thing to be affected is the little end it starts to seize up really quite quickly. This is present on all the ep80/82 engines I've bought, were as all the ep91 engines are lovely and free as well as being higher mileage. The early ep82 had a single stage engine oil sump allowing alot of free oil movement, the later ep91 had a 2 stage/step sump limiting oil movement. This is probably the best way to date/age your 4efte engine. Along side the tell tail marking difference on the ct9 and ct9b compressor housing, also the square open water port in the cylinder head located behind the inlet manifold to head flange. And finally the silver top half of the rocker cover\cam cover section with a additional bracket on the very top surface/edge that houses the high low boost solenoid. Between these engine/component differences you can date your engine within a 2 year time/manufacturing period. Accepting the fact that the engine is completely original.
  22. Morning there is a list on my build thread, top of first page. This is everything you need, and In My opinion the easiest root. The fuel pumps might be the same, 4efe/4efte, but are a good age now. The unit I pulled out of my ep91 4efe+t had a light gray top and the turbo units have a black top. Do you have a build thread or pictures up. Can't get anuff of these little things.
  23. Looks very nice. These have aged so well.

Sorry about the repeat ,,check out the senior karting so much skill involved.
  25. Agreed .6 bar 230hp tdo4l hyb waw I need to see your spec. But again 220ish is plenty plenty after this your aiming for quarter mile times and things get very very expensive.
