  1. im not entirely sure, I cant find a code on the heads I have here. from the information ive collected and been helped with there are 2 main different 4efe/4efte cylinder heads: the early gt mk1/mk2 heads are more refined and the positions of the valve ports are better leading to less of a tooling mark edge/ridge left in the heads port after the valve seat insert is cut into the head, this is the key area to focus on when port grinding and polishing is to be done. you can identify these heads by way of the small square shaped coolant port/hole on the inlet manifold flange to head surf
  2. yeh. your gearbox will do for now and save you some money just at present. yeh the gearbox will suit the heavier car better. i will message you the engine price.
  3. yeh ill get dan to put up some pics of her. he back onit this weekend. yeh the vw polo coilovers are nice on the roads and the ride was'nt to bad at all tbf. it did how ever catch the rear arches.
  4. as said fantastic work. them exhaust runners are crazy restricted. keep it coming.
  5. thanks. im a sucker for a bargain. ive got quite a network of starlet people/parts/information providers. all really love this little car. i cant wait to get back onto this in January, and start to drive it around next year is going to be so much fun. we did go a little to low on the ride height lol, but as you all probably know its hard to say stop there when you have adjustable suspension items.
  6. really enjoying your work. im going to have to go all out under-seal and all out clean fest on mine, once its back from the body show that is in the new year.
  7. yeh im going to start buying up all the e11 4efe engines that are coming up on ebay thy sell for around 350puid + delivery.
  8. the engine. rebuilt 4EFE with original cast domed pistons skimmed flat to give a 8.1 compression ratio. it will have the 4efte inlet cam, as well as the valve springs. this means a 7krpm red line is achievable/acceptable. it will have honed bores, acl high load bigend bearings, polished crank pins, with all machined sharp edges removed. i do recommend having the crank pins case hardened. i can have this done at an additional cost. the head and engine block surfaces will be skimmed, the original toyota composite head gasket and head bolts will be used. it will hav
  9. the 4-e series toyota engine is a 1.3ltr from the factory. the 4-a series engine is a 1.6ltr. the 7-e is a 1.8ltr

chase. how are you and family. im yet to look into these, but im confident that if you are interested its a serious little car. ill check them out very soon.
  12. yeh. ill message you at weekend. with the global covid situation, ive been stationed away from the uk. im hoping till January. the next 12month plans, and near future is very uncertain. with this in taken into consideration. ill message you some engine ideas and prices.
  13. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32661534632.html I found these while over here. What do we think.
  14. I'll clean it up and have a look for the part number. I think the other throttle is off a Paseo. it came with the 5e engine, but the engine did come in boxes, it had been stripped by the person I got it off. there's every chance its off another vehicle.
  15. Another series I'm really starting to enjoy. Not sure how it got into this section and thread lol. The internet is playing up this end.
  16. its alittle crazy but the jdm vehicles are not only wired differently but different colors. another thing here as well is the auto ems is a lot more advanced than the manual.
  17. Thanks for the info Gavin. Yeh the pistons I have here have a really big dome (raised crown). I'm just looking into rpm range of the gen1 ae101 corrola now. as I'd expect it to have a lowwer rpm limit like on the ep91 starlet because of the heavier piston crown. The throttle body I have here is an early 4efe gen type but is only around 37 to 40mm in diameter I'll add a picture to this post. It could even be 35mm. The interesting thing here is the 5efe has the same compression ratio as the 4efe but the piston dome is tinny almost a flat top piston. We discovered that the rod l
  18. All good to know the demo was probley one of the first sr built, as well as coming with alot of optional extras normally. I've just seen a MK1 GT turbo with climate control. My mind has just been blown.
  19. I've just properly gone threw your very impressive build. Fantastic work. Really very impressive. Can I ask what size the internal diameter of the gi throttle body is. The reason is I've supposedly have been sold a ep80 gi gen1 4efe but it's looking like it might be an early ae101 corrola gen1 4efe. Going off your pictures the rods on this are thinner and the pistons have a higher dome. What rpm limit does the gi have.
  20. Just at present I'm looking for a E11 4efe corrola to utilise the faster engine ECU with ignition system. If I can find a low milage example this could work out nice. It would just be the bear block and cylinder head complete. For that price I will fit turbo valve springs and cams.
  21. Over here we can get 4efe engines on eBay for around £350gbp. I recon I could build a good 4efte equivalent out of a 4efe for around £1300 reconditioned+import tax your end. With a ACL bigend set and 4efte valve spring new stem seals and skimmed pistons to match the 4efte compression ratio. The only thing is it would not be ready till around April next year.
  22. There's a fuse for the clocks in the cab fuse holder under the steering column. It's easy to burn out the printed circuit board on the rear of the clocks.
  23. Thanks. We are buying newer better parts all the time at present, standard starlet behaviour. It's also safe to say I've got the starlet bug haha.
  24. Yeh your drive shafts and crank will take the power considering that they are in good condition ( CV joints). And yeh there's no real short cuts to achieve reliable figures above around 130hp on your high milage engine. This power would feel very good. Your compression ratio will be good for upto 160hp on the tdo4l turbo and kit. The only thing in question is the health of the engine. If mapped in on a piggy back or standalone ems control unit by a good tuner. As far as head gaskets go these engines develop problems with head gaskets as soon as the factory engine is opened. Th
