  1. i'd say yeah in this cold weather you'l be bouncing off fuel cut like a biatch! personally i would keep the airbox in till after winter. running without a filter is an accident waiting to happen. a sock/mesh/shit isnt going to protect your turbo at all lol
  2. there has been masses of threads and arguments on this over the years... there was a big thread on the pro's/cons over on tgtt. i have a vague remembering that there are gains to be had with 5efhe as there is a slightly greater lift, but whether the effort of getting them in, sorting end caps etc was beneficial to the gains provided. Also you would need to map the ecu to the new cams as lift and duty would be effected. i think thats what i remember from the conversations
  3. Mmmm slammed!!11!1 RWD subie?... i think so lol
  4. wheels need spaaaacers lol. wicked progress all the same matey... me likey alot
  5. Badassracer gets a moderating spot... well i'l be darned
  6. not going to lie that's a good figure but such a narrow power band... i shale bite my tongue on further feelings lol with a 3" and aggressive cams it would make an awesome drag beast! imho not right for the road.
  7. Matt buddy get on there arse and get them to sort it out... they messed it up they need to fix it! as above though they shouldn't put up a big fuss and its not a big problem.
  8. what actuator was it? i had a problem with a new hks... dont no why but it just fooked up, all i did was over boost. even SumoPower said they where surprised to hear it was broke... kinda felt silly that i thought that was the problem as no one else seemed to agree. bought a second hand one slapped that on and BAM fixed it straight away. its always the last thing you could imagine that would be wrong lol glad its sorted mate and you can enjoy it a bit longer without driving it off a cliff :harhar:
  9. there just old cars... even mine 2 years ago gave me shit, its just how it is. spent a shit load sorting it out but got it right in the end but then couldn't cope and sold it lol. but its the same with every modified car, once you change something something else needs to be changed... that leads to the next thing and the next etc etc best car i'v owned is the scoob why? because i haven't had to fiddle with it, just left it how it came and have loved every minute of it. only you can decide how much you can take, you can sort it out but whether you are prepared to absorb the costs is your ch
  10. 10mm on the front and mine where close to the arch, 20mm and i think you might have some scrubbing issues... but if front and back are rolled out there wont be any problems
  11. haha yeah thats the one, went off then got sold on again present owner is on here and has a new build thread up somewhere I would defo say 25mm, if it doesn't scrap they aint wide enough :D... just remember to get some proper hubcentric ones not just spacer plates type things
  12. I ran 10mm spacers with the same rims front and back, tbh 20mm+ would have been prefered on the rear. think i have a pic somewhere... Edit: not the best pic but shows that the back had loads of room to come out, if yours are rolled aswell i would be willing to push 25mm no probs
  13. hey man its your car, props for the hard work i'm no hater lol. keep up the good progress... be good to see a graph when you get a final power run done
  14. There is never 'one' car for life... get out there try few, if you dont like them you haven't lost anything only gained experience with different types of car trying different cars is all part of the fun of being an enthusiast, you appreciate what there about. give skidding a go, get awd and track it like a mofo, try vtec if you dont like them then come back and get another GT. i built my glanza got to the end and most thought i was silly to sell it so quickly after just getting it running perfect, but tbh at that stage i was bored and needed a change... i'm glad i did, i'v been through a fe
  15. hay didn't say my car was rapid , just not a fan of mega lag... i mean i'm running a ported td05 18G on a 2.0L! and i still have a small amount of lag, surly an even bigger turbo is just silly on a 1.5?
  16. looking schweeet mate , i would be wanting some 25+mm hub centric spacers on the wheels though... i think it would just flush things up a bit.
  17. Lag is for losers , torque is where its at lol
  18. why td06? that 20G is going to be a lag fest!... i would be wanting a gt28 or a vf34/35. super nice spec but unless doing some drag sessions i would be wanting a slightly more responsive turbo, but thats just me lol
  19. For ease and accessibility get an EMB... a remap is the best mod you could possible do for your car. the jam/blitz ecu's are good for basic mods/slap the boost up jobbie, bit basic for my liking its a 10/15year old chip glued in and mapped for some jap car. you can easily make back money on an EMB if you decided to sell it... personally i would want a mappable ecu, that's only from my experience though
  20. the Rev4 block was the supposed strongest... rev1/2 where the weak link, rev3 and up had a revised engine, different rods and pistons. to some extent it is a myth that some came with a stronger block... there where some thicker but all in the rev4 range, was more luck of the draw. think rouge done a test on blocks... nothing came of it really. if it track you want... get a rev2 tin top strip it out, find a rebuilt rev3 engine slap it in, change all the suspension and arms to later models ones also coilovers and you'll be laughing on the track mate. trust me ;)
  21. main issue is that sentence is rev1 turbo... rev3 upwards is where they really came into there own, bigger turbo, ran off a map sensor not silly maf so modding became alot more simple, uprated suspension, steering rack... the list goes on lol. but yes for care free chuckability the glanza/gt would be the way to go
  22. I would choose a mr2 again anyday! super nice cars, amazing handling and cost isnt bad at all (compared to my scoob ;) ) You can get classic insurance so like £500-700... bargain. You can do basic mods and run 300bhp!... bargain. you can still fit a £100 tesco shop in the boot ;)... bargain. Check out the link in my sig if you fancy a poke about a mint 2! if you want one though dont get a rev1/2 there shite! rev3 upwards is what you want also on a side not they are RWD but you cant treat them like it as with the mid engine setup there very 'snappy'... will hold on round
  23. I herd running a big cyclinder of NOOOSS will do it no probs! ;)
  24. the pain of paying that much soon gets wiped off when i launch at 5k and get pinned to my seat ... it never gets old lol
  25. £1400! dam it... mine came out at £2200 at 22, might be that a slightly older car is cheaper? my area is supposed to be pretty low on the old crime rate. never mind lol! enjoy the beastie, until you get bored of living at the bloody petrol station ;)
