  1. elephant are supposed to be good if your 25 and on the look out for a scoob personaly i like the 2.5's and they make good power for little money, but become limited pretty much to stage 1 tuning as the engines arent the strongest WRX's will be alot cheaper on insurance but dont come with uprated parts like Brembos all round, bigger intercooler, bigger injectors, turbo etc that the STi's do I was pretty lucky to find a white UK STi for the price i did... not many of them around and like you i was not going for the common blue! lol there is an information vault somewhere on scoobynet but i c
  2. Insurance is a bit of a joke as i'm not over 25 yet ... really is quite high but i wanted this so bad so had to dig deep! (4 figure high) As a daily it isnt bad at all relay, exhaust isnt bad the tone is great. Fuel could be better but still manage 20mpg around town if i drive like a saint. but what do you expect from a 2.0L and over 350bhp. tax is pretty high STi's and imports will be alot higher then Uk WRX's but personally if i get one again (and i will) i'l be getting a jap spec STi or a spec C or even spec C-RA! there are some good spec UK STi's up for sale on scoobynet.com and at ver
  3. Well mapping session came and went before i knew it... was a wicked morning and was awesome to find out how road mapping works and everything involved goes round. getting all set up: All went super smooth, no problems what so ever and lucky for me my car quite liked boosting and Duncan (mapper) was very confidant its going to make a good power figure. No power figures as of yet as i need to get over to a set of rollers to do a power run or two... but estimates are around 350/360bhp with some very healthy torque! thats still with a sports cat and a 2.5" midsection so could still squeeze out
  4. looks like a classic Impreza to me so no great loss in the world. bet he'll think twice before getting his arse out again! lol
  5. ^^^ He said it all mate, a little effort goes along way
  6. Running cost isnt 'that' bad... fair enough mpg isnt at all great but i can manage a reasonable 20+mpg around town in my scoob. find a super clean one, get it mapped and it should be sweet as a nut with reasonable fuel bills. insurance and tax are the main big hitter to deal with. all the best mate with the new up and coming evo
  7. Yes mate, i ran a Mr2 fuel pump in my glanza and there the same as a GT4. fueled more then enough for my hybrid
  8. Are you for real!!? 1.7bar on a ct9... did i actually hear you say that! lol fook me that poor turbo must have been screaming at you to shoot it through the head before it blow your front of your engine up
  9. cheers buddy, everything is fitted and its getting all mapped up on the 13th! cant wait for that. then a trip up to scoobyworld aka monster motorsport for a power run and graph to see what she is pushing
  10. personally i wouldn't push more then 20mm... puts quite alot of stress on the studs, i snapped a stud on my mr2 running 20mm spacers but the wheels i had where a bit ott for it. as long as you have the correct spigot rings and the wheel seats nicely and doesn't vibrate to much 20mm spacers would be fine
  11. Cheers mickey much appreciated Thanks for all the donations guys, couldn't ask for a much better bunch of people on this forum much man love to you all lol
  12. I tried running yesterday as i thought i actually better start trying to run... ran 3miles and now cant move as my legs hurt soooo much ! donation is very much appreciated
  13. Running this in memory of my mum who sadly passed away about 3months ago. help me raise my target amount guys every little helps be it 50p or a pound (remember if you donate to gift aid) http://www.run10ksponsorme.org/ChrisLove it's not a massive distance but i'm a pretty unfit fucker so i'm sure it will be a tad bit of a challenge!
  14. pointless thread if you ask me... its gone well off course. you CANT compare a 30k car to a 3k car thats just madness right there. any small turbo car if you put alot of money into it can kill a bigger stock car. how many youtube vids have you seen of some scooby/evo slaying small hatch? loooads! what about some shitty civic bashing some porche round a track? looads. The RS is the better car allround so no point slaging an amazing car. Original post was about a forged Vf22 Gt... not exactly stock now is it? yes that will probably have the legs on one but again it isnt stock. I dont see the
  15. Ditto!! how the hell i missed such as awesome car is beside me. absolute work of slutty art! love it
  16. Also found i have a Billet comp wheel in the Td05 which is pretty awesome... seeing as thats the flavour of the month with current up and coming turbo's i'm quite luckily to get all that without really knowing just means i know its now super tough and light weight, so going to delete the dump valve and make it chatter like a mofo!
  17. Cor a Vf22! thats a mighty big turbo for a 1.5... theoretically that's bigger then the Td05 18G i just bought lol personally a Vf34/35 would spool a load quicker and still produce silly power on your gt. Oh and yeah when you actually come onto boost you will slaughter him lol..upto 130 then if he hasn't given up he'l take you. just sit there and watch his face drop as you cain he off the line
  18. Right some awesome bits have arrived! In the scooby world there is a ledge called Harvey, this is his version of the Td05 18G: full ported inside's and very smooth ported exhaust housing: I also have from him some ported headers... this is the stock cast mani, fully bead blasted and ported then heat wrapped. Also includes the uprated up-pipe to the new tubby Have my car booked in for a mapping session on the 13th along with my brother in laws WRX, so fingers crossed for some nice power results... not going to crazy but would be well happy with 360bhp and the same in torque
  19. Jo where has this come from?! haha little miss 0.7 bar now wants 250bhp! ... Love it! i knew you would crack eventually and want moooore ;)
  20. No it doesn't, it comes from the compressor blades as the air is forced back through them. it doesn't stop the blades or rotate them back round as some people seem to think it mealy 'stalls' them slightly, slowing the rotation chopping the air as it passes back through giving it that 'chatter' sound. As above if you want it, simply remove the bov altogether. if you want a bit of both get a bov with a harder spring in so it will dump on full boost and chatter on soft throttle. Compressor surge does damage some turbo's... you guys are all lucky that the ct9 are reasonable robust. Mr2's had a C
  21. Personally if it where me i would get in touch with enzo and order one of his wicked turbo's... then get a hold of Nick@TuningDevelopments on here, go up there get an uprated pump and Emanage blue fitted and mapped all at the same time. Bam 200+bhp! Oh also get rid of the shite autofail mani!... that would be my number one thing to do
  22. the big guy is good to me lol
  23. Nice work phil buddy, i bet it shifts!... i remember when i got my hybrid set up on the rollers, the difference when i came off was actually amazing!! I made 170bhp on the stock ecu on a hybrid, i bet this would make just the same possible more... the stock ecu is quite a clever thing on these cars hope it behaves and you dont have to many more issues
  24. erm insured on my V at 19 when i had it or was i 18... i cant remember but all mods declared mine was £750 Alot depends on your area postcode... i happen to be in a low crime rate area which helps. tbh unless your 18+ i wouldn't even bother looking at a turbo car, we all had to wait but it's worth it mate
