  1. A cheap one will cost you a heap of money to get right, and will no doubt have been scrimped on. The issue with something like the M3 is that, when it goes wrong, and they do go wrong, it's going to cost you a cheap Starlet GT to put right! I'm not sure I'd have chosen a Starlet over my M3 to drive on the road, ever. But, I didn't buy a convertible, so perhaps that's got something to do with it? I have an E39 530 Sport Touring now, and it's very similar to the M3 inside, exactly the same steering wheel for example. It's comfy, and eats miles, just as bad on fuel as the M3 though but tha
  2. Here's the scenario.. You crash, either by hitting someone, or them hitting you. Your insurance assesses your car and finds it is modified. You didn't tell them, they void your insurance. You will need to pay for the repairs on your car, and any third party bill. Not too bad, a bumper for the car you hit, not particularly expensive. Then the occupants of the car you just bought a bumper for all claim whip lash, that money will then come from your own pocket. The answer is to find a modification friendly insurer, it is not to drive an uninsured car.
  3. Do you still have the gearknob? Are they weighted or is it all plastic including the insides?
  4. Try owning an M car, these things are cheap as chips in comparison. I spent £400 on a set of brake pads for mine!!
  5. I've been over at RW today with my car, I'm jealous of your turbo!

I have one, Sheffield based, you can collect it today. I'm not really sure what it's worth, feel free to PM an offer.
  7. Is he still after a Glanza? Hope he finds a good one. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/76464-im-washing-my-hands-on-here/ Do one, or are you still washing your hands?
  8. Sorry, you'll need a normal boss then snap off. I have a OMP boss with drift works snap off kit attached to it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMP-STEERING-WHEEL-HUB-BOSS-TOYOTA-STARLET-91-OD-1960TO295-/351012556586?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51b9fa8f2a http://www.driftworks.com/driftworks-60mm-race-quick-release-steering-spacer.html
  9. Driftworks.. I've had two, never developed any play in them what so ever. It's what I have now, and I've got a Personal/Nardi wheel fitted to it.
  10. Spend the 300 on a set of decent tyres and you'll be fine.
  11. As above, what have you got?

I like Championship White, buts it's a Honda colour. Not sure it has any business being on a Toyota.
  13. It's double skin, but I'm not sure you'd be able to tap anything into it, it's not thick enough. Good old nuts and bolts.. Fuel tank is behind it, so be careful when drilling.
  14. More tidying done, need to run power from battery now.
  15. I'll be using 16mm2 cable for mine, it'll be sufficient, battery is going to sit just behind where the passenger seat would go.
  16. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa/entry-requirements It would appear that so long as have enough time on your passport for the duration of your stay you'll be good. But given that you'll need to renew your passport very shortly afterwards, I would say do it now rather than wait. I just wouldn't want to give the chaps who sit on the border any reason to turn me around, because they can, and they will. I've been fortunate to travel to the US lots, I still get nervous when entering the country. Apart from in Texas, they don't give a shit.
  17. A fine he is unlikely to be able afford?
  18. Looking at the chaps Facebook, I'd say he wasn't all that bothered.
  19. To save me a journey across Sheffield to measure a radiator hose, is there anyone who knows, or who has a hose laying about they could measure? I just need the internal diameter of the hose please, or the outside diameter of the outlet on the radiator top hose. Cheers Tim
  20. Was wondering how your were getting on with this, good to see things are progressing. Have fun at the 'ring, hope the weather is good to you, and if not, go steady!
  21. Yep, not much for taking someones life. Although we've all lost sight of cyclists / bikers, so easily done. Got to keep your head on a swivel, especially on a nice day in the peak district.
