It doesn't matter how much money you have, or how much money you throw at it. A road car will always be compromised on track, a track car will always be compromised on the road.
-
I'm of the school of thought that what works on track doesn't work on road and visa versa. There will always be a compromise, so if you're using the car on the road, you don't want an out and out semi-slick, or rather, R rated tyre. Semi slicks, are slick tyres with cuts in them, and aren't road legal. Some of the more road friendly tyres are R1R, AD08, 595rsr. I ran a 595rsr on my M3, and it was decent on the road and good on track, but not as good as a good road tyre, or a Kumho or A048r on track.

What do you do for money and why drive an ep82?

Software Developer, I had a starlet some 10 years ago and always said I'd have another. Mine isn't used on the road, I doubt it ever will be but I'm enjoying working on it. I have a BMW 530i as a daily and tow car, pretty boring but eats up miles. -
Kumho V70 medium. Best tyre I've ever used on track.
-
I can put you on touch with someone who has A048r 's for sale.

US immigration normally stamp your passport for 90 days, with that in mind, 90 days would be the least amount of time I'd want on my passport. I would check with the airline, but with only a month left on your passport it's very unlikely they'll let you fly. The main reason for that, if you are turned away at the US border, it's them who has foot the bill to get you home. US immigration is no joke, I wouldn't run the risk.

They aren't I'm afraid, all sold to J1mmy's mate. Who apparently is some sort of tyre baron, he cleared me out of tyres to then go and buy a set or two from my friend.

Open a paypal dispute, that suddenly makes finding PM's much easier.

I don't believe you.. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/79268-gt-seats/#entry984107 But even still, you are making money from my generosity, the right thing to do is to do as I did, and pass them along free of charge to anyone who can make use of them. If you do sell them, perhaps one day you'll look back at this with a certain amount of regret. Good luck

Funny. I'll take them, but I want them for what you paid me. Cheers

The carbon came from ABS in Lincolnshire (http://www.absmotorsport.co.uk/) I finished fitting my gauges today
-
Fitting wideband in the downpipe was too close according to the manual of mine, it suggested about a metre away.
-
They can be had for £40 or so on eBay, that's where I got mine.
-
That is what I was sent when I bought a cheapy eBay one. Not something I'd want to rely on for steering a car!! I ended up digging deep and buying an OMP one, much more substantial!

I think I have some, will have a check over the weekend, in Sheffield as well so you're welcome to pop over on Sunday to collect them.
-
I think I've got to the point where I'm over being 'unique and different', I now sit firmly in the camp of 'what works', perhaps it's my age. But I also agree, that if it's something you want to do, then be all means go for it. Don't let a bunch of internet folk tell you otherwise, live with and stick by your own decisions.

As responded to your previous wanted advert, I have a standard one finished in 205 black. £35 posted.

Will have one in 205 black available after the weekend.. £30 delivered?

Cool, I wondered how that part worked. -

Are you running additional washers either side of that? -
Have you had the geo checked on this after the rear camber work, what is max and min camber? Can you share photos of how it was achieved, feel free to PM.
-
Top mounts fitted the same on each side? Is it sat on the floor or still in the air? The picture makes it look like the drivers side has neutral camber, whilst the pax side has positive camber.

400hp, front wheel drive.. you lot make me laugh. Fit a GT25 and go fast everywhere, not just in a straight line.

I had them fitted to my E46 M3, did a track day and about 8000 road miles on them, they still looked like new when I sold the car. They're very popular with the MX5 crowd as well. I'm confident they'd work well on the Starlet, and if mine was a road car it's what I'd have fitted.
