  1. lolol....calling in the favour on pops the prior work was poorly done, ,,but it does look like a relatively easy repair for someone with decent skill
  2. drop russ78 a line....may be he can help
  3. i think some people in the past have used levin 4age final drive 4.3----i suppose a gearbox specialist may be needed to do this also heard of a 4.1 http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?40146-Gear-Ratio-Comparison-List
  4. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/71349-whats-it-worth-thread/ try this tread
  5. http://www.wossnerpistons.com/tech/piston-installation i found this, but i find it strange that both the top and 2nd ring gaps are the same 0.006" x bore isn't the top ring gap usually a little tighter tolerance wise then the 2nd ring gap----maybe like 0.0055" x bore OR 0.005" x bore ??? anyone with this kind of experience/knowledge?
  6. yeah the acis is a great manifold...once used properly
  7. thanks Phil....yeah Barbados is nice and sunny most days ----though it can get a bit too hot sometimes lol thanks Calum well the majority of the work is done by me and my mechanic (engine build, gauge/parts installations, etc),,,but i tend to do a lot of research and have relied heavily on the advice/knowledge of a lot of those members and others before i make a final decision on certain things. Its really what these sites are about --sharing. Starlets are tried and proven now, so there is not a lot that hasn't already been done and perfected by members out there
  8. buy genuine Toyota ones
  9. http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/auto/Bajan-bombshell_94871 i posted this in another tread below, but its not really related to that topic, so i will put it up separately for those who appreciate this kind of thing. For me its really just a pretty simple car in the scheme of things we've seen over the years in the starlet community. Still its all about sharing our experiences. Now, regardless of how simple or extensive we mods our cars, we usually don't do it by ourselves---we rely upon the knowledge and services of others...big thanks to Collin (my mechanic since day one), hardcoreep (Rory who also wrote the article), newguye, Jason (tuner), dreGT, Jay, Chris, Azerty, Hybrid, Weejohn, Ted, WEPR/sacha, Speedvision/sam, MeisterR/Jerrick, Morgey, Russ78, Artmull, Phil, Fur, Bajanplaidman, RJ Tuning, Ramses, TTGT, UKSO, Ausstarlet, wheelsjamaica, zhaust and many many more who would have contributed to get me to this point. PS - An important lesson I've learnt over the years, especially with a stock engine, is to always do things properly the first time...it generally saves you headaches in the future. https://www.instagram.com/p/BSm0ZE3DMD3/?taken-by=daleyrory https://www.instagram.com/p/BSm1Zdsjibm/?taken-by=daleyrory https://www.instagram.com/p/BSm2Tpyjz8k/?taken-by=daleyrory https://www.instagram.com/p/BSm2vrUD3PA/?taken-by=daleyrory https://www.instagram.com/p/BSm3TsUjAY1/?taken-by=daleyrory
  10. i run speedvision 460cc...no problems over last few years i've also ran speedvision 360cc before,,,again no problems
  11. http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/auto/Bajan-bombshell_94871 here's an article on the car in question...just so you have an idea of what we are chatting about
  12. http://trdparts.jp/parts_lsd_helical.html hey Colin, i bought a new trd helical lsd a few years back for my ep91--it was advertised for the MR2 on ebay, but luckily it was new and still in the TRD box so i could verify the code "41301-AE000" for myself you can also get this toyota/oem helical LSD from some levins/bz-tourings with a 4AGE engine and some other toyota cars you just have to be careful to make sure you get the correct LSD that works with our gearbox
  13. yeah i know that the bore is supposed to be the specified piston size ---which included a 0.07mm or 0.0027" clearance. i'm talking about the ring gapping, ring alignment, etc specs http://www.wiseco.com/PDFs/Manuals/RingEndGap.pdf like how we have that for wiseco
  14. anyone? ..i'm referring to the installation informaiton---like ring gapping, etc http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/52242-how-to-build-a-5e-fte-engine-5e-conversion/?hl=%2Bwossner+%2Bpiston+%2Bspecs i found a little on this tread, but not all
  15. i can't have both
  16. hail, can anyone post on here or provide me with a complete copy/scan of the specifications sheet for wossner forged pistons? it would be very much appreciated. thanks
  17. same as the starlet if you don't monitor the dollars put into it..one can easily spend a small fortune on the starlet without really realizing if you do it over a period of time...the same goes for any car, but i suppose the cost of parts increases comparatively to match the type/class of car as well. no more small fortunes being invested into cars for me....well i'd hope not---lolol
  18. trust me...if i get one, it will simply be only those mild mods i mentioned i suppose a big part of me has grown away from it all over the years, but i do appreciate a decent sporty car
  19. that's simple enough...i just don't want a case of selling the starlet to get out of the modding game,,,then to get an evo and end right back up in the same modding game ---turbos, manifolds, standalones, LSDs, etc
  20. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/105454-what-do-you-reccomend/
  21. i somehow recall someone having a similar issue a LONG time ago and it turned out to be some relay (maybe efi or something along those lines) that was going bad. but that's just somewhat of a thought stuck in my head----i could be wrong maybe take a look at your fuse box to make sure no corrosion and everything is in order there----certainly can't hurt
  22. nice car boss keep up the quality work and dedication
  23. thanks dub-se7en when you say "bolt on mods" what exactly do you mean over and above my proposed mods (exhaust and intake)?
