  1. by any chance do you have an engine code?---diagnostic??? what grade plugs?
  2. http://www.ukstarletowners.com/page/articles.html/_/tuning-4efte/ read both articles and decide what you want from there
  3. i previously ran toyo T1-R on my starlet and i'd not recommend them...they were just "ok" imo i'm not sure if on the subaru they would be any different with 4wd i don't have any experience with the others you mentioned, but maybe you will get some feedback to help choose one of those other 3
  4. i'm positive the 5 speed is stronger too...similar to the sti, levin, etc...as its an attempt to fit 6 gears and 5 gears into a "fixed" space,,,so 6 speed gears are usually thinner but i'm just wondering how strong the 6 speed actually is before it starts to become jelly
  5. how much is the 6 speed box rated to?
  6. that's just amazing how both turn out....monster driver, box is working great (for now...lol)......while mature driver with T/box issues seems life is not really fair lol
  7. lolol...i'm sure we'd not get too many votes in favor of the starlet----maybe the odd past starlet owner who now owns an evo
  8. get a cam seal as well....basically the same as the crank seal
  9. some toyota solara/camry model is suppose to have 1" BMC that should fit up as well when in installed the celica twin pot set up, i had the same issue with the stock 13/16 ep91 BMC feeling spongy and low...so i upgraded to the ep82 7/8" BMC and everything has been great---has a stock/sporty pedal feel....i did plan at some point to try the bigger 1" bmc from the camry/solora if i ever get the desire to go back at it---i think it will give that race car pedal feel
  10. even the votes are relatively close for either option...
  11. that's all part of the reason the ep is such a nice car...the massive adrenaline rush i was hoping the 4wd blast/push would be even more incredible...but i suppose unless you up the power then its a heavier car to lug around i know people with modded evos and stis...but that's not the avenue i want to go down finding a stock evo owner locally that is WILLING to take me for a short drive may be quite the task...i've only seen about 2 that look stock on this island and very seldom do i see them
  12. looking for an engine bay harness for a 1992 ep82 turbo starlet must be in very good or excellent condition would also consider interior harness if you wish to sell as a complete set seller must be willing to ship/post overseas (Caribbean) pics of the item(s) will be required regards
  13. drop Stu a PM he's usually good with electrics
  14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-TOYOTA-STARLET-1-3-96-97-98-99-RADIATOR-FAN-SWITCH-GREEN-4EFE-4EFTE-EP91-/260799832256 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cambiare-Radiator-Fan-Switch-Part-No-VE709101-12-Month-Warranty-/311473211124?fits=Car+Make%3AToyota%7CModel%3AStarlet&hash=item48854006f4:g:Zq4AAOSw~bFWL5Bd looks like that whatever you do, make sure you car the correct one...the white one does not work lol
  15. seems that way from what you described
  16. check radiator cap...can possibly also be headgasket issue
  17. you dont need an external wastegate per say if you plan to keep the stock ct9 or run a hybrid ct9 you can always just get an HKS actuator and be happy...
  18. he's using emanage ultimate,,,,so its unlikely its ecu related based on what he described he could have done a diagnostic and find codes....always the starting point....but it seem map/sensor related, maybe something else blew off as well
  19. yeah, it does seem to be a natural progression from the starlet....i really can't see any other car that i'd consider selling the ep91 for at the moment. i agree, the exhaust note is lovely...lol with regards to drive train fragility...when you say launches?---are you only referring to a standing launch? how about moving driving off and the quickly flooring it?...does this cause transfer case and differential issues too?
  20. i'm not bothered by the general maintenance stuff,,, the plan would be to keep it "stockish" with just intake, exhaust and suspension mods...run stock boost pressure....possibly get the ecu reflashed.....and run high octane gas only......no major mods...i don't know how much fun that would be over the mildly modded ep91 but now i hear some mention of potential AYC issues on the GSR model..........which is the model that would more suit me, as i want all the comfort features. i don't want to be having issues with nothing once everything is serviced as it should be....just a nice decen
  21. i have a few weeks to sit and research and decide what i want to do...for sure its not an easy decision. people from the outside looking in would probably be thinking its a straight forward decision, but us starlet owners know its not that simple
