  1. ...extra abuse on the OEM size discs was the idea behind our 110% discs for what it's worth, for those on a real budget!
  2. Yup, plain 110% discs would be fine - you still get the extra mass/stiffness. In terms of pads, people rave about DS2500 vs EBC options, beyond pads there are the bigger upgrades. As for a soft pedal, check you've got free pistons / sliders etc, that you don't have dot 5.0 fluid for any reason (you want 4.0 or 5.1), and as you said you might have tired brake lines.
  3. Is that from 100% cold brakes? Might be the ABS kicking in if you're REALLY hitting them hard. If the pedal feels soft then it's probably a fluid/lines issue. If it's a hard pedal but no brakes then the pads/calipers might be the issue. If it's vibration then look at the discs.... If you ARE thinking of upgrading, have you seen our WMS 110% heavy-duty disc and Ferodo DS2500 combo?
  4. You need a mechanical handbrake to pass a (UK) MOT, but you can ADD a hydraulic one as well (line lock type).... No idea about the rules in Trinidad though!
  5. I wrote a breakdown of the advantages / tradeoffs of different approaches to brake upgrades, see here: http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/25345-brake-system-theory/ Have you seen the WMS brake kits by the way?
  6. I'm jut waiting for prices for "OEM fit" braided lines to fill in where we've sold a WMS kit - plus full car line kits too, will know in a day or two I expect.
  7. Hi Krissy - I did indeed, thanks for joining in! Just chasing the stragglers. Ferodo re-open on Mon the 6th Jan which is when they'll get my order, so the deadline for those that haven't paid is the evening of Sun 5th as I'll be deleting non-payers from the order at that point. Same date goes for the discs, I'm not letting this drag on even more, it's not fair on people who HAVE paid. For the record I tried to order DS2500 pads from the Future Motorsport link but didn't get anywhere, so that company is invalid for any future price matches. The UK Ferodo distributor has no record of ever se
  8. Have a look here ( http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/72471-discspads-for-toyota-calipers-inc-wms-110-heavy-duty/ ), they are only for the OEM caliper though, not for anything K-Sport etc.
  9. Or (grooved) WMS 110% heavy duty discs and Ferodo DS2500? :-)

    Wms breaks

Do you mean 55mm or 54mm bores for the discs? It's 54mm up to '92, '92-on is 55mm. I've got Liam as having the 275x22 4P107 in my records...
  11. I will be able to, need to get the 4P107/9 4pot kit brackets on the shelf first - then I'll be accepting one of the offers to borrow ST185 calipers (both types, probably Levin twin pots too). If you have a spare caliper that you don't mind me borrowing (ie it doesn't take your car off the road) then drop me a PM and I can make a start on it?
  12. Ok, no worries - worst case might be I order on the morning of 23rd, but I might be able to go earlier than that. See how it goes, I'll try to avoid xmas in any future group buys that's for sure!
  13. Cool, I'll drop you a PM. Right, Ferodo are putting their prices up at the end of Dec by about 4% and they close on the 23rd (I would imagine they are closing early in the day as well). I have to assume the guys I'm matching will also put their prices up. So people might want to move the date earlier than the 23rd if they can agree? 18th Dec to catch the last 2013 shipment from the factory to the UK distributor (no price rise). 22nd Dec to catch the last safe day of 2013 prices, and at this point the pads won't be in the UK until the 14th Jan and then need to come to me, and then

    Wms breaks

Sort of - it ended up being a 260x25 and the prototype is sitting on my desk in front of me! I just need to run off a few proper brackets so I can ship some...

The 275x22 4P107 and 277x25 4P109 kits both fit the ET40 15x7 Rota Slipstream from what I've been told. The 4P109 was tested using PDF/card templates, the 4P107 was tested in real life by someone fitting it....
  16. Am still interested in giving this a go if there is a rotor (and adeally bell) I can borrow?
  17. See http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/63124-wilwood-brakes/
  18. As far as I know these kits (and 3G!??) don't exist any more - so I've been talking to a few people about us making replacement rotors for the 3G bells (assuming that's what you got?). We also supply pads for the Wilwood calipers. I will need to borrow a complete 3G rotor/bell though at some point before I know if it's possible..
  19. That's cool, starting to sound like a plan - I'm not worried as I realise annoying £££ stuff often happens, it's just that it's easier to all agree on a date here rather than me bouncing heaps of potential dates around by PM! If people who are delaying can pay a deposit then it would be appreciated, but if you can't due unexpected stuff then don't worry as it's not a biggie... So in terms of the group buy which has in effect been extended for some people, if anyone else wants to join in then feel free - if everyone who needs to delay agree on the 23rd Dec then the option to join in cl
  20. Ok: One of you is going ahead now, I'll PM that person the info they need in a second One of you hasn't replied, could you get back to me please? Three of you are a bit skint for various reasons, could you three please sort out a date you can complete (between yourselves here)? A group buy can't work in lots of small lots, that's not the idea! But I'm ok to complete some now, and some on a single delayed date (but will need deposits). Hope that's fair? If I try to re-organise everyone to a new date one at a time via PM it'll turn into a nightmare!!!
  21. Last day to join the 110% disc group buy people! I'm closing it at midnight tonight, we only need one more person to get the 10% rate.... 1. karl. (G=Y, P=Y) 2. Jamie5414 (G=Y, P=Y) 3. Ollieh17 (G=?, P=?) 4. DaddyDutch (G=Y, P=N) 5.glanzav99 (G=Y, P=Y) 6. ...... 7. ...... 8. ......
  22. I'll need your full postcode to check, I'll drop you a PM...
  23. That's bloody cheap!!! Yes.... (mutter grumble... )
