I had no previous either, I was done for joint enterprise 2 charges and some tic'd. I think I got 180 suspended and a 18 month community order with LOADS of other requirements. I got extended tag, and all sorts. I was at crown and chucked in the holding cells for an hour pulled back up and the judges words were 'I'm glad you've had a taster of the cells, because thats what you have to look forward to...' 'THAT is if you reoffend' lol them words will be permanantly stored in my mind for life lol. I used it all to my advantage got extra qualifications and a cscs card and forklift and eventually was signed off it all very early because Of my attitude. Tag was already off by then though, spent way too much time on that. You live and learn though, it made me realise a lot of things!

Damn, and think of the import tax, I got same issue need 1x pauter rod and a set of wiseco rings $146 for the rod so proctically £200 landed and £150 for the rings all in. Wtff

a few years back I spent best part of a year on tag, for a similar sort of thing got it for something that I didn't personally do, but didn't open my mouth to the boys in blue. It truly sucked, I tried all the old tricks of removal, not a chance lol. Only thing that really helped me through the time was I found it worked on a radius although they say they set the points as you walk to each end of your house, they're actually only checking it doesn't alarm at each end of your house, mine didn't alarm out in my garden, the garage at the end of the garden and the driveway. Yep i spent MONTHS in there!

So I cleaned the contacts and i think the carbon brush in centre was jammed, cars been ran and works fine at the moment fingers crossed!!!

I think I just sorted my missfire, i cleaned the contacts on rotor and distributor and I think the carbon brush in centre of the dizzy was jammed its sprung and should move out as it wears, check yours

I had an FCD hidden on my car, it was turned off but found it when poking about

Tbh my car spends most its life at 1k rpm I drive like an old fart, you know when your late for work and there's that one person doing 20mph - yeah that's me! Thanks guys!

I think if the engine was struggling to fire at low rpms it would explain the backfires too, they were mainly uphill.

Yeah? As I say I'm not clued up very well with them! I'm glad to hear I may have the fault sat beside me! Do you think it's knackered enough to be causing the missfire or just needs replacing?

I just done a general check of the engine, levels, felt the hoses etc just as you do. With the cap off theres clearly corrosion, not massively worn but I question the centre contact as I'm not sure entirely how they should look after a bit of use and if it could be causing the issue. I'm going to clean the contacts up, I don't have any other tools here as there at my garage a town over, other than 8 and 10mm spanner so unfourtunately I cannot check the plugs but that is certainly something to consider. My guess is that the fault lies between plugs/leads/cap/rotor/coil/igniter seeing as the missfire is not down to one cylinder it's a multiple cylinder and only slightly it's not your usual engine rocking scenario. I think realistically it's got to be distributor, coil or igniter as it is spread across probably all cylinders. Any thoughts comments? I could be completely wrong i'm not incredibly experienced at the moment I'm just trying to look at things with what I know and theoretical analysis

Yeah I see the ewg takes a similar route to zisco in all the SARD ones I find online so I don't know! I really miss that manifold and turbo!
