With the det3 you will be able to raise rev limit and will control fuelling much better than a blue. You will need the extra rpm believe me lol. No idea in power tbh. Also I tried a few different exhaust setups, 4age 20v 4-2-1 manifold modded to a 4efe flange with a 2" straight through to a back box. 2.5" is too big and you lose low down power and if you put a midbox in you will lose a bit of top end. Again. I've done all this and experimented with different setups. So trust me lol
I updated my post ;) phone publishes that before I wanted too lol. Yeah I advised him to have the det3 fitted and mapped by a tuner but he basically ignored everything I said after he had the itbs built...
The guy you bought them off was using an ecumaster det3. I walked him through building them as I made a set a few years ago. Det3 with internal map senaor. Mapped in fuel Implant mode (standalone fuelling) would be best IMO. Any tuner should map it. Just find one you trust
Rings are the same as 4efte, the 4efe rings don't handle the revs. Also the valve springs are closer to 4efte specs to avoid valve float which occurs with the 4efe springs above 6800rpms. You could just bolt the GI head onto the ep9 4efe but the rings will give up much faster than they should. You could just swap the crank from the ep9 4e into the GI engine. Just get it polished and measured so you can order the right ght bearings
This isn't just a pggyback. It is standalone for fuelling. Believe me lol standard ECU cannot control the injectors any more. So it cannot cut fuel for rev limit. You have to set it on the det3
And it works off all standard sensors etc and the standard ECU stays put meaning you keep diagnostics. Has launch control, boost control (if you buy a solenoid), road dyno, data logging, live map adjustment, switchable maps etc I could go on
It's not bollox but if the wire is frayed instead of broken then it may just be getting a weak signal, telling the ECU it's running lean no matter what it does. May not actually be running lean.
I genuinely doubt that bud. I know of a good few si, soliel and even a canvas top but my S is the only one I've seen other than a white one in netherlands. There probably is a few knocking around but I haven't seen them. Even so there is very little difference between them all. 100bhp setup in all of them. Only real changes are interior trim and bumpers. Some have a spoiler, some don't, some are colour coded, some aren't. I love looking at all the different combinations but at the end of the day there are loads of 100bhp Jap starlets out there with varying trim levels.
Fairly sure you don't know anyone other than me with an ep82 S.. The si is fairly standard spec jap import 4efe starlet. Yours has a few options ticked from dealership.
