Did you swap dizzy? Try another set of leads and check you coil as the plastic can split down the side.
-
Make sure to bridge te1 and e1 before starting the car to check timing. Keep bridged until timing is set
-
Should only go into the cam one way as the slots are big And small to match big and small keys on the dizzy
-
I'll happily give you a full list lol I've done it quite a few times now. Drop me a pm if/when you want the info

1e gearbox swap 4speed to 5speed
richardc9052 replied to JDMfreak's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
5 speed is much better. All 4 speeds should be scrapped lol -
Yeah, unscrew the dizzy cap and let it hand down with leads, unplug the loom from dizzy, 2x 12mm bolts, one on either side of dizzy (mark position so you can get timing roughly correct with new dizzy) Then pull the dizzy out. And push new dizzy in. You will need to line up the key to fit into the camshaft but that's it, just plug loom back in and screw the cap back on. Let us know how you get on

1e gearbox swap 4speed to 5speed
richardc9052 replied to JDMfreak's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
Well no they actually don't, there is a inside that you remove and 6 ball bearings fall out. Basically the same as in cup and joint just different design on the joint. Info from: owned them all and tried many different gearboxes and engines in them all lol -
Use the search please as this topic has been covered many times. Also videos on YouTube by harry Murray I think?

1e gearbox swap 4speed to 5speed
richardc9052 replied to JDMfreak's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
Not in theory, fact. You drives will fit corolla gearbox, Levin gearbox, 5 speed ,6 speed, lsd. Not to confuse things though, any gearbox bolted to an e series engine should be a direct swap into yours once you use your mounts if they are different. -
Turned out to be the cam position sensor in the dizzy. Swapped dizzy Nd problem sorted
-
You should bolt a ct9 on it Just bought an ep90 5 door we are in to track. Wont be road legal so it will be gutted an trimmed inside but will be 4efe td04

If you Willing to pay 100 plus postage I can point you in the direction of a guy selling a tubular 4 branch mani for a corolla so should bolt up to your existing exhaust
-
Not enough spacers then
-
15x8 et20 with 185/45/15 tyres still rubs at the back with coilovers. So your setup is probably going to stick way out the arches
-
One of the local lads has the exact same issue he is in a gt and he has tried swapping from standard turbo to hybrid... same problem
-
You could have raised it up with spacers but I suppose that allows extra length if you do both lol
-
The Max is whatever your Willing to space your gear lever cradle up. I had to trim the inside of my centre console so it would fit again. If you want to avoid trimming the. Just measure the gap and work from there. Mine was an ep80

Done it before with 25mm works greak
